[This is a memory from the episode
Idol, to coincide with Spike finding his
Tangarian Coil wedding band friendship bracelet. The other guy in the memory, and the one who gave him the bracelet, is Spike's husband boyfriend
BFF Dru. The bracelets are a traditonal gift on Dru's home planet and symbolize the close connection of friendship between two people.]
Spike stood inside what appeared to be the entranceway of a large building, holding up some kind of weapon and facing a smirking, brown-haired human male. Except... something was odd about his appearance. He had round bumps on his skin, four all in a row over each eyebrow. And he wore a tan uniform bearing a small silver badge with those three familiar letters he'd seen in his other memory and on the badge that used to belong to him... S.P.D.
The two were speaking to one another, though Spike couldn't hear the words coming from their mouths or indeed any other sound. However, he could smell something strange... not an unpleasant scent, just nothing he could put his finger on as being familiar to him.
The two began to circle each other as they spoke. Argued, perhaps, as the other man looked angry. Spike lowered his weapon as they kept circling, talking, never doing anything- then they stopped. The other man furiously raised his arm, shouted at Spike, then turned and began to walk away, toward a large sliding glass door bearing the letters S.P.D. Spike stood his ground and moved into a favorable position to shoot.
However, the other man stopped, spread his arms, then suddenly spun to face Spike, a weapon in his hands. He shot Spike- who took the impact on his wrist, on a silver bracelet he wore. He was sent into the air with a small, sparking explosion, spinning around as he fell and landing hard on his side, then rolling onto his back, still facing his opponent. A few things fell beside him- what looked like a broken half of his bracelet, and his own weapon.
He could also smell a bit of smoke from the explosion, and a very faint trace of what very well could have been charred human flesh- a wound from the laser blast.
Spike's opponent came up to him, kicked his blaster away, then knelt before him, speaking words he still could not hear. Spike could see his own chest rising and falling with his heavy breathing as he grabbed at his injured wrist. His opponent lifted the broken bracelet piece, stared derisively at it, then threw the piece at Spike and left. Disbelieving, Spike picked it up and watched him go...
Then, the memory faded.
