in the past week:
- began work at the "holy grill"...its super busy and stressful and aside from the fact that my boss is cool and i get a big free delicious panini for lunch (and paid cash daily), i think i hafta quit 'cause...
- i got the job at Purr! WOOT! i start on monday and its gonna be so RAD man! i am looking forward to dressing up for work and being a trendy shopgirl, heh...and i do love some of their clothes...weeeeeee!
- began reading george orwell's "down and out in paris and london", which is a personal account of his living in extreme poverty back, well, im not sure when, but maybe post WW1? its really riveting and makes me thankful for the tolerable level of poverty that i have to endure, (nothing at all compared to living in a slum and going days without food...)
-read "dime store alchemy", which is a book about the work of joseph cornell...whom i am in love with! its quite possibly the most uplifting, inspired book ive read in ages, i highly recommend it. i wish i lived in new york, i wish i could pretend to be joseph cornell for a week...*sigh*. if you havent heard of Joseph Cornell, do yerself a favour and google him. GENIUS. absolute.
- re-watched 'lost in translation', which reminds me of my brother...and the fact that my brother comes home next wednesday! WEEE!! he has been gone for ages (living in london) and i cant wait to see him. he said he was gonna try to pick me up some vintage vivian westwood gear while he was there, cause its not so hard to find (!!!) lets hope so! :) vivian westwood is a personal style idol...
- went with ryan to the ship for the real halloween and nearly froze to death waiting in the lineup....but it was a fun night and worth it. we drank lots of ceasars. yup. and danced to 'shes in parties'. heh....
