Frivolous Self-Indulgence!

I wrote bits of a poem today at work. It is really frustrating sometimes, because when I am given a tedious task like shelf-reading or shelving, my mind--as if it doesn't know what to do with such emptiness--takes this huge plunge into deep, serious, (often depressing) thoughts. Today, at least, some of those thoughts got channelled into lines. Which I found a bit encouraging, since I haven't written much since summer (especially summer courses) started. I've gotten away from waking early to write ("before my ego gets in the way"), which I am kind of sad about. So the fact that I at least produced something from my hours of solitary introspection is kind of. . . neat! Funny how these things seem more miraculous when you aren't required to do them for a workshop.

I just read Kierkegaard for about an hour and a half--so now it's time for mindless frivolity! I haven't done a survey in ages, and while they are kind of juvenile. . . they're fun?! Anyway, I snatched this from someone else's LJ, so here goes. . .
