So I am documenting this in hopes that I will actually come through on a planned project. I was just reading through a chapbook I made for my Fall Workshop, and I realized how much revision needs to be done!!!!! Gah! Oh goodness. It's so strange, because in a way my Spring Workshop was a nightmare learning environment. . . but I learned so much (which I haven't realized, I think, until now), particularly about being concise and saying something. It seems like the latter would be an obviously integral part of writing a poem, but you'd be surprised. Especially as I often think I am creating a feeling, without grounding a reader. . . because, well, I am afraid of vulnerability. And if my instructor taught me anything, it's to fucking write from your guts. So, that's what I am going to endeavor to do. . . or re-do. So in addition to working on the chapbook of poems I wrote this Spring (which I have tentatively started--well, I have a cover!), I now want to re-do my last chapbook. So. Another summer goal.
