Went to see Green Street today, Alina and Polina came a bit late though but we managed to sneak in. Luckily, the movie we bought tickets for was right next to where Green Street was showing so we could get in easily. And I reviewed it:
I've only come across negative reviews and to be honest, I really think they need to watch it again. Yeah ok, fair enough it's a violent movie, might be bad in some cases but that's all anyone says. They only look at the violence, what about the actual storyline? Or how about what the characters go through? I don't know what anyone else thinks but I think, alongside hooliganism, it's about friendship as well. And I really don't see why Newham's mayor is moaning about how bad the film is for London's rep. This is basically what happens, and all this movie does is show you reality. It's got one tiny relation to Green Street and that's the name. They only chose Green Street because they had the initials GSE already but they needed to think up a name for the firm so they picked that, and they mayor is moaning about that? It's not even about bloody Newham, it's about hooligansm and it's not intentionally saying "this shit happens at this particular place".
But really, it was a great film and I loved it. I did doubt how good the film was gonna be right at the beginning but towards the end, it was so awesome. I loved the ending but Pete died! And they way he died, it just really got me. I didn't talk after the film because I was so blown away, it was like you'd never expect that to happen. And Matt left London, LOL that bit in the toilets when he was about to punch that drug dude, that was classic. Loved that bit XD
