Serving the Community since 2001 - Five Year VCL Jubilee
Yesterday marked a somewhat important event. Not only was it Christmas, by no means alone, it is also five years since my first uploads to VCL.
Here, take a look for yourself:
In my "old" Folder are still the three pieces I applied with.
Mind you, that was at a time, when there still was Yerf - where I dared not apply. Galleries were still all very down to root on HTML and Pearl. DeviantArt was still beta and galleries such as SA, Y! and FA didn't exist. fChan was unheard of. Heck, most of the people now frequenting those Galleries didn't even exist.
Back then, the VCL Europe Community was still strong, one of the main mirrors being the Sweden Server. It is about that time, I timidly stepped out of the shadows to see, who else was sharing my craze for Animal-People. Furs in England, USA and Holland where the first to answer.
I have - throughout the turmoil of the Gallery politics - stayed with the gallery I first ever joined up. VCL still sees regular (or better call them irregular like my workflow) uploads from my side. When asked of my preference of Furry Artwork Online Gallery, I still state VCL to be my favourite. Despite the lack of a now-trend community system, the service has proven to be reliable over the past 10 Years, of which I can say, I have joined them half way.
And to emphasise this sentiment, take a look at the other places you can find my art: YNA is now dormant, Deviant Art never interested me, since I despised the interface, Sheezy is now defunct and no better than DA, Y! will delete my account, as soon as they notice I have Fur Pron there :D and Fur Affinity is a pain in the neck as far as reliability (FA1 was butchered and FA2 is either being fought over or down, it seems..)
