URGH!
Oh how I hate the Locke's dad is the real Sawyer spec, HATE!
And it is likely to turn correct.
Why do I hate it? You mean aside from the big shiny bow that comes with it?
I hate it because it doesn't imply any kind of development for the character of Sawyer should he find out or remember the man.
Are we all clear on the fact that about 99% of the Lost characters have daddy issues? Are we? Okay.
Are we clear that real!Sawyer is not James' dad? Okay.
Are we clear that James' dad killed his wife and himself? Okay.
Can we then agree that Sawyer's issue is to realize that the one man he's truly angry at is his dead dad and that he must come to term with the fact that the revenge that drove him all his life is useless?
James killing real!Sawyer won't be any different than him killing shrimp guy save for the fact that real!Sawyer is a real bastard and not deserving any kind of good life.
Heck, James killing Cooper will be as deep and meaningful as James killing the tree frog.
That's my issue with that Copper=Sawyer story: it's a repeat for the James' character.
You'll say, but if he doesn't kill Cooper it's different.
Different from James not killing the boar?
I am supposed to throw a fucking party here?
Bring out the bunnies, we're gonna shake 'em like it's 1999!
Jesus Christ!
While I'm here, James has already killed someone on the island. He shot a guy in the s2 finale.
Could that killing be anymore useless? Didn't think so.
But could it have been useful? Well yes of course it could have and easily at that too.
How? So sweet of you to ask.
That guy who got killed (and whom no Others mourn) could have been a friend of relative of Pickett. That death could have been a motivation for Pickett's hate of James right off the get go (because you know he would have bragged about it just to piss off Pickett and well everyone really).
That death combined with the one of his wife would have Pickett's punching James to a pulp much more sensical and meaningful than him targeting James just because he broke his nose earlier.
But of course on this show the characters' motivations and goals are after thoughts because what matters is to shake the bunny until it rots.
URGH!!!!
