I'm not much of a fan for Pro division sports in this country because of hideously high salaries for players, the lack of hometown devotion (they'll play for the town with the biggest bucks!) and the ridiculous nature of sports and fans in this country but I do love hockey. The players are international, the game is fast and violent, it actually involves skill, and the list goes on for me...
I guess I should have stuck around the restaurant to get picks with Lord Stanley's Cup which made its rounds to our town. Of all the foolish antics the Cup has been through...drinking, puking, etc...our restaurant takes the cake or should I say Chowder...(say it right like a proud New Englander...CHOW-DAH!) We filled the mighty silver bowl with Conch Chowder and handed out spoons...too bad it was the red Manhattan style chowder (I hate that swill).
Well the moral of this tale ladies and gents is that NHL might be on ice (no shitty pun intended).
The proposed salary cap has players jockstraps in a wad and management won't fold, blaming poor profits on greedy players.
