[eta: This randomness brought to you by me forgetting it was Saturday - and therefore the day I had designated for posting Yay Things - until after River's late Benadryl dose at midnight (stupid fleas). As I was trying to fall back asleep, I thought, "I really need to decide what to post in a few days on Satur-- Wait." *headdesks quietly* So this wasn't supposed to be THAT post, I was just randomly posting. At least there's a Yay Thing linked, right?]
Today was a lot better than the days have been, but I well and truly ran out of get up and go around 5pm. I really wanted (...neeeded) to get some work done tonight on item descriptions at least, and descriptions and photos were what I was actually going for, but at this point it's looking like the fact that my eyes are open and my typing coherent is as good as it's going to get. I mean, I did run 5 miles this afternoon, and at a relatively fast pace (which is, like, turtle speed compared to most other people, I think, but effort expenditures don't care about those kinds of comparisons), then made a few stops before coming home (winter hats totally cover up the sweaty hair), so it's not like I didn't do anything. I may feel slightly guilty that more of it wasn't work related.
I forgot my phone at home AGAIN, so had no music for my run at the rec center. I got a good spot in front of one of the TVs, though, and spent most of the time watching the the Marshall vs. Louisiana Tech game. I don't know anything about football, so I was mostly proud of myself for sussing out LA = Louisiana. I spent the first 5 - 10 minutes going, "L-A-Tech? LaTech? That... doesn't sound familiar. Los Angeles maybe? Noooooo, probably not..."
I keep wishing the all-football-all-the-time being broadcast was occasionally hockey, since I would find that fannishly useful.
The hot water remains an issue after a week and a half, but a replacement instant hot water unit is en route. As of this moment, we can have hot water in short bursts via - I think - turning the breaker on and off and pushing the right button, so, in theory, I should be able to take a shower tonight. I'll believe it after it's happened.
[eta2: Ohoh, ALSO, there was actual hot water for a shower! *\o/*]
In unrelated news (...maybe), a thing came up on the
Lackadaisy♣ Tumblr that has been making me grin randomly whenever I see it again. Which is often since I saved it:
I motion to replace all reaction images with Lackadaisy cats. They look much sharper via RSS feed♣♣, which maybe has to do with Tumblr's perpetual graphics fiddling? Anyway, atm I'm gonna have to say that out of the selections, I am Rocky:
Rocky's... unique. He has a THING for pancakes and waffles are shady characters, in case you're wondering what's happening here. I am merely peering in suspicious, half-addled confusion at everyday objects, not waffles in particular.
*edits out 4+ sets of parentheses before posting*
*no, really, there were 4+ MORE*
♣ The fandom primer for this one, which shockingly hasn't happened before now, is just a matter of time. Anthropomorphic Prohibition-era cats! That is:Q. What's this comic about?
A. It's about a gang of tenacious (if not shady) characters running a St. Louis speakeasy in the era of Prohibition. I suppose it falls somewhere in the realm of historical fiction, parody, dark comedy, and abject nonsense.
♣♣ The comic is gorgeous; for the love of pete, don't judge it by that post and/or Tumblr's rendering. ...Oh, hey, if you click on them then they resize appropriately.
