Relationship(s): Steve/Bucky/Natasha
Summary: Wherein Natasha Romanov has a bucket list and a metaphorical feelings-cat, joins the Victoria Hand Rescue Society Inc, and is absolutely not dating either or both of her super-soldier BFFs from the 1940s, no matter what Nick Fury thinks.
Reccer's Notes: This is Natasha trying to figure out who she is, even if maybe the trajectory is a little off at first, looping in Steve and Bucky in the process. This is messy - which, to be fair, anyone would be, but she and Bucky in particular make it specifically messy when their ideas of who (what, if) a person is clash at one point. It's all really, really wonderful as she discovers good things, stumbles, falls back, gets angry and goes off to shoot some people, discovers maybe she didn't *need* to discover things in the first place, or at least that there was a lot more right in front of her she wasn't seeing, and just generally ends up happy. There were some minor details I wanted to argue, but it's an all around satisfying Natasha fic with some great imagery, some very memorable scenes, and it's going on the to re-read list. <3

Relationship(s): Gen
Summary: Twice, Natasha slams her own shoulder out of its joint so she can squeeze out of a pair of handcuffs.
Three times, Natasha slashes open her wrist cutting free from some binding. Glass on duct tape, razor blade on wire, exacto-knife on nylon rope.
Once, Natasha crushes her elbow trying to break out of a ziptie. To be fair, she’s heavily drugged and off-balance because of a broken heel.
Times change. Restraints change.
Reccer's Notes: Very nice Natasha character study.

Length: 6 gifs + 215 words
Fandom: Avengers
Summary: The more I see comparison gifs like these, the more I think - you don’t carve out the person and leave the skills - that is not what they did at all. They kept everything of the person (even gave him some more skills) and took the memories.
Reccer's Notes: One of the worst things about Bucky's life. (There are a lot of worst things.)

Artist's Notes: Later, Colonel Philips asked Stella, “Where did you manage to find so many women on the front lines?”
Stella smiled. “I didn’t. They were already here.”
Reccer's Notes: Some awesome artwork with a great story - the women that would become the Howling Commandos, just before Cap's rescue.

On Picking Up Strays by

Fandom: Guardians of the Galaxy
Rating: PG-13
Relationship(s): Gen
Summary: The Ravagers didn't really want to keep the kid, but all their attempts to get rid of him failed.
Reccer's Notes: The kind of funny that comes with disturbing implications. They really do keep trying to give him away or just flat out kill him, but he's immune to the poison, the coordinates are lost, the engine conks out... You have to be careful picking up strays, see, because you never know exactly what you've picked up.
Excerpt:We landed one day on a friendly moon
Said "Go out and play, we're leaving at noon"
When really we planned to lift off right away
We'd done it too, but there was a delay
Our engine was spewing out smoke; thick and black
And before we knew it, the kid was back

Summary: (fignewton's prompt) SAM. Anything Sam. :) If you insist on something less vague, then Sam and something creepy through the Stargate.
Reccer's Notes: The sort of creepy that's all easy walking and filtered sunlight and slowly coming to the realization that things are not what they seem. Just the right sort of spooky.

The Roommates AU by

Fandom: Leverage
Rating: PG
Relationship(s): Parker/Hardison/Eliot
Summary: Hardison gets in a jam because Nana ain’t a fool and, “You better not be computer hustling to afford this place, Alec!”
"What? Nana, no!"
(Spoiler alert: he totally is.)
Reccer's Notes: In which Hardison needs to acquire roommates post-haste in order to lie to his nana. It's all down uphill from there. <3 Part of last scene jumps ahead a bit in development, but it's a very delightful au (of the sort that could lead into most of canon) which feels very in character.
