I've spent most of the day circling around work rather than accomplishing it. Granted, the allergy attack out of left field in the early afternoon didn't help anything. I did can 6 half pints of roasted tomato sauce, though, and there was changing the bedding and doing a few loads of laundry. Some descriptions did actually manage to be written even, and there were other odds and ends, so it's all something. Instead of frustrating myself further, I'm closing down Evernote for the evening and letting it go until tomorrow. In interest of that, have a few links and recs.

Meanwhile, a MotW Trouble of the Week is leaving a trail of dead bodies under the cover of darkness and solving the mystery is nothing if not really damn urgent. This one is hot off the presses; I misread the word count when I started reading earlier today, thinking it was around 2300, not 23000, so at one point I figured I was coming to the end, but then there was another scene! And another one! And-! It was like Christmas kept happening!

Jedibuttercup has been making that viewing tragedy so much better with the 3 ficlets she's produced set after the end of the film. The first 2 are gen, the 3rd veers off into surprisingly workable Riddick/Boss Johns (suprising to me at the time anyway - in retrospect, it works just fine).

I'm sure it takes some liberties here and there, but see previous, re: enjoyment. Near 68,000 words of very little angst and relatively slow build relationships as things coalesce into a perfectly happy ending.
