Summary: The Order of X is a group of ‘gifted’ individuals in the service of Lord Charles Xavier. The Order provides sanctuary and protection to individuals outcast by society due to their innate abnormalities. These people are often misidentified as monsters, demons, warlocks and witches. Only those who are accepting of the ‘gifted’ are welcome in the realm of Lord Xavier.
This is a personal fan-fiction variation on the X-Men. I thought it would be a fun exercise to do the X-Men in an alternate medieval/fantasy reality. Prejudice and discrimination were rampant in our history. Being a darker and less civilized time, fear and hatred ran deeper making it an interesting setting for the X-Men. The task to protect and defend the ‘gifted’ would be near insurmountable. I’ve created short background stories for each character and I will be posting those along with the final images.

During the war it was easier to suppress/ignore because hey, being shot at is quite the boner kill, but now he's in the 21st century and though they still happen, battles are rather less regular. As a result, well; let's say that Little Steve is suddenly "standing at attention" when not explicitly ordered to do so."
Steve respects Natasha as an agent and a person, but he also needs to stop looking at her when they are in public together because his body can't quite handle it and his uniform is very tight. The fact that Natasha's having entirely too much fun with Steve's noticeable problem doesn't help matters.
Reccer's Notes: In which Natasha is delightfully evil and Steve- well. Steve isn't actually a boy scout. He's up to the challenge. (No pun intended. Really.)

I don't think Q ended up where he is and with the job he has because he's the nervous sort or squeamish, so this characterization will always appeal to me - a slant of capable!Q (this one is Slightly Psychotic, var.1, which is the kind not actively attempting world domination and with no supernatural elements).

"Do you really expect me to kill you?"
"Not yourself. You already proved you don't have the balls to do it."
Arthur's eyes narrowed and he had to count to ten. "Do you really think I'll turn you over to my father?" he tried again through gritted teeth.
Merlin sighed, and started gathering his pack together. "No, Arthur. I know you. I think you'll leave me at the border and return to Camelot, where your father will ask where I've got to. You'll make up a story, he'll doubt it, and I'll spend the next several years of my life wondering when I will wake to find knights beating down my mother's door. At which point she and I will flee Ealdor, and I'll probably spend the rest of my life in a cave hiding from Camelot until one day you need my help and it gets me killed."
Arthur looked away.
Reccer's Notes: Lovely Arthur POV as he fights through his own reactions and tries to come to grips with discovering that Merlin is indeed magic.
In addition, I have a half dozen Teen Wolf fics set post mid-season finale that I want to rec, but I don't have the extra brain cells going spare tonight and my eyes keep wandering in and out of focus, which really isn't helping anything.
