Summary: The dog is lying on the side of the road where Derek usually parks the Camaro, and it’s not almost dead, but it’s not exactly… healthy either. It’s a pitbull. Dappled grey underneath the dirt that it’s covered in. There aren’t any injuries-Derek doesn’t smell any blood or illness-but it’s panting, chest heaving as it lays on its side, ribs too visible for it to be anything other than a stray. When he gets out of the car and walks over, it twitches a hind leg in acknowledgement, and nothing else.
