*shivers*

It's a 2 dog afternoon around here. It's about 50° Fahrenheit inside at noon today thanks to the furnace not being turned on yet. Last night at about midnight, this conversation happened:

Blue: *shivers*
Jack: *shivers*
River: *burrows*
D: Huh. I probably should have turned on the furnace.
Blue: We haven't filled the tank yet.
D: So? We still have fuel from last year.
Blue: ...
D: ...?
Blue: ... >:(
D: *is beaten with a pillow*
Blue: I've been freezing for no reason?!

Damn his hide, he then had to get up early and work a 14 1/2 hour workday, so I don't forsee it being turned on until tomorrow. So now I'm wearing two long sleeved shirts, a sweatshirt, wool socks, a knit cap, and huddling with the pups under the covers. Jack keeps catching a chill, so he's even sleeping under a throw blanket, which is a rare thing since he usually hates to be covered up. We were plenty warm overnight because D puts off enough heat for 3 people, let alone one person and two dogs, but now the toes on one of my feet are cold and a little numb because I have crappy circulation. Hmph.

Ironically, I'm totally okay with freezing because I didn't plan well enough for the major expense of having the tank filled earlier in the season, but when it's just because the furnace isn't turned on, then it makes me cranky. I think I'm cold enough that going out and getting the small electric heater from the shed, cleaning it up, and using it to heat just the back bedroom is a good idea. Then taking a hot bath. And drinking more coffee. Or switching to tea with ginger and it's excellent warming properties.

*shivers*

eta: Oh, yes, that is much better. I should have done that hours ago.
