Edmonton Film festival

I'm going to be a volunteer for this year's Edmonton film festival. Today I attended a volunteer orientation in the Citadel theatre downtown. I couldn't find the meeting room so I asked two girls who were in the building and they led me to the meeting site. When I first looked over the schedule, I wasn't particularly impressed. That changed after one of the film coordinators gave us the low-down on some of the films that will be shown. Edmonton will be receiving some Western Canadian and North American premieres, and will also be showing a few films that were big on the Toronto film circuit like Deepa Mehta's newest, "Rachel's getting married" and "Zach and Miri make a porno."

I only have to volunteer four shifts and I already have my all access pass. The other volunteers seem really nice and I'm hoping it should be fun.

After the meeting, I wandered around downtown before heading home. I saw one of the girls that I'd met at the meeting a block away from my house. It turns out that she lives in my neighbourhood.
