I bought THE WORLD's BEST COAT yesterday. I was wearing it around the store before I purchased it, pretending I was in Dr. Zhivago. It is a long parka that comes down to my knees and it has a huge hood with fake fur on it. I am 100% in love with it.

After the purchase of THE WORLD's BEST COAT, I drove to the Pork Science Centre on campus, where I toured a model of a hog production facility and talked to the communications representative. I learned a lot of really disturbing things about swine sex. Apparently, you always have to have a boar on site, because the ladies will not reproduce unless they can smell him. Most pig reproduction is done through AI. If you want to get a lady pig in the mood, you put the boar in front so she can smell him and then bunt her, touching her a little. Then you need to put pressure on her back and she will stand at ready, absolutely still. Then you can inject the semen and the pig's vagina will pull the semen up. Like dogs, pigs get stuck together. You can get about 30 vials of semen from one boar.

All male pigs need to be castrated before they go to market. Boar meat tastes bad and apparently has a sour taste known as "boar taint."

Pigs are very territorial. They actually like to eke out little areas for themselves and like to lean on things. If another pig enters their territory, they will often butt heads. However, they really like to be touched and will often nuzzle one another. I didn't get to play with any of the pigs or piglets, which was kind of sad, but I did get to watch them through the windows. This science centre is a way that the industry can let people know what they are doing. They've even toured environmentalists and animal activists. Completely fascinating.

My brother then showed up and took me to the West Edmonton Mall, which was crazy busy as we expected. We walked around and looked at people and things and generally had a really good time. We actually have a real friendship now, which is 100% awesome.

I couldn't fall asleep last night, which sucked. Today we got up early and went to the farmer's market where we bought a ton of stuff. He's out shopping today and I'm at home doing work, as it is too cold to go out and my brother has my car.
