This is going to be my last post for a while, since I will soon be traveling home for the holidays. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, the end of the year is always a good time to slow down a bit, sit back and evaluate your situation. I challenge you to tell me your most significant accomplishment of the past year, your greatest hope for the next year, your assessment of your current situation (is it really as bad as you might think?), and anything else you reflect on in the next week or two.
When I return, I will try to answer some of those same questions. In the past I have found that even if I get down on my situation throughout the year, that reflecting on where I am versus where I could have ended up always makes me feel lucky, at least until an evil holiday in February rolls around. ;)
The second half of this year has been rough for me in several ways, but the few bright spots I have enjoyed have come from meeting new friends through this journal. I wish you all the best, now and in the coming year. May your friends and family realize how special you are and accept you for who you are. I truly appreciate the unique aspects of each one of my new friends, and I look forward to making several more.
Talk to you soon!
