I didn't watch the super bowl, and I guess I missed a good game. I was working on tax stuff and had the puppy bowl on in the background - it was adorable. I did tune in for The Office, though. And typed while watching.
OMG, that cold open was amazing. Truly amazing. Oscar in the ceiling. Kevin kicking out the vending machine. The cat! Being thrown into the ceiling and falling right out...
And the Stanley clips from the past - excellent way for a newbie to get intrigued by him. And a good way to get a glimpse of Ryan.
(I see I am watching this episode not just to enjoy it but to evaluate how well it i will interest non-fans).
And now a wheelchair for Stanley. Kevin saying "call it" with the dummy. OMG, OMG. No arms or no legs... "basically how you're living your life now, Kevin"
The dancing... of course this crew would end up dancing to the Bee Gees.
Dwight.. wearing the dummy's face...
OMG and here's David Wallace again. I'm literally laughing out loud.
Paul Lieberstein is a genius.
And... eta, Andy's ignorance sometimes makes him very sweet "Jim and Pam are movie geniuses". Sometimes I just adore these two together. JF and JK are great, but the Jim and Pam they've created are really special.
All of them lying on the floor. This is excellent. And he's standing over Pam. And he's holding a lit candle!
"Those shoulder pads are so boss, man. That perm is so boss." Oh Michael.
Michael is way too thin skinned to be able to to handle a roast. Oh no.
And poor Pam and Jim! Jim getting put in the middle between Pam and her dad - that doesn't seem fair. But I believe Jim would do just about anything for Pam, so it's believable. I wonder if we're going to get to meet Pam's dad in this episode.
Dwight defending Michael... and how he's roasting him worse than anyone else. Michael has no land. Ha.
"If it were an ipod it would be a shuffle". Hee.
"You really suck as a boss. That's what I hate about you." Andy sings. He's very clever when it comes to music.
This roast is actually cheering everyone up. Everyone but Michael, of course.
"My thing isn't tiny, it's average." Oh poor Michael. What did he write about everyone else? I knew this would badly.
That's not what I thought Pam's dad would look like. That part of the story is kind of sad.
And we really didn't see much of Jessica Alba, did we? Not that I'm complaining.
Aw, a bittersweet ending. It perfectly highlighted the dynamic between Michael and the rest of the staff. They don't want him to be sad, so they have to forgive him for being so inept, because they know he cares. Excellent Office episode. "Boom roasted!"
Wow. I hope it's not Jim's baby. When is the next episode on? This Thursday?
