Not my favorite episode ever, but I liked Pam's hair, I liked Dwight and Angela alone in the office, I liked Creed calling Angela Pumpkin, I liked Jim having to suck it up and keep trying to win the client's business, I liked Andy crashing the cart into the sand trap, I liked John Krasinski's delivery of the "I like you" line, and I liked Jenna Fischer's actions in the scenes where Pam learns the requirements of the internship and where Michael gets way too close to Jim and Pam kissing. She really does a wonderful job as Pam.
So my question, would they spin off Jim and Pam into their own show in NYC? Jim working at corporate, Pam studying graphic design?
Would they? On the one hand, I think they would. On the other hand, I think they would not. (That sounds like a Kevin Malone statement if ever one existed.)
It feels like they are setting up a Pam & Jim move out of Dunder Mifflin Scranton... which makes me think it won't happen. Jenna Fischer said she wasn't leaving the show. But maybe she didn't know that she was going to the spinoff.
I think the Office could survive without Jim and Pam. And then if the spinoff failed, they could come back. It would be a bold move. Is bold the right word?
ETA,
Alan Sepinwall's reaction makes more sense than mine -- they're showing Jim committing to Dunder Mifflin at the same time that Pam is pushing away. Whereas I've been thinking that Ryan will lose his job based on his coke habit, and Jim will be offered the job, hence NYC.
But if Pam leaves DM to go to school, how would she be in the show? Oh well, I'm sure the creative minds of Daniels & co will come up with a good solution.
