Worst Job Ever

This was the worst job June had ever taken.

She should have listened to the little voice in her head telling her not to work with Angry Boy and Uncle Lazy--the two of them reeked of eau de loser, and losers usually offered losing jobs. But a pile of gold as heavy as the old Fire Nation oaf had been irresistible. Tracking down a bunch of kids seemed simple enough, even if one of them was the Avatar.

But the job had blown up like a barrel of blasting jelly in a room full of drunk fire benders. Not only had the Avatar escaped, Nyla was rampaging through the countryside around the abbey, driven crazy by the perfume the water bender had doused him with. If June was lucky, she would be able to calm him down before he hurt himself or anyone else. If she wasn't lucky, those two Fire Nation idiots would pay, and in more than money.

She snarled, "I know you can move, old man. Get your hand off me, or I'll decorate my saddle with it."

He chuckled, like she had just made a witty joke at a party. But he did take his hand off her shoulder. She ordered, "Now go tell those bloody nuns to give me whatever the hell they must have given that water bender to get her up and moving so soon after being exposed to shirshu spit."

He gently set her on the stone floor of the courtyard and stood up. Bowing, he said in a gallant tone that only made her want to smack him, "I shall return with the remedy for your affliction."

"JUST GET THE DAMN NUNS!"
