((continued from part one.-will link here))

"Coming right up" Hikari" called over her shoulder,as she filled the kettle with water.
Setting it on the stove to boil, she entered the living room and took a seat next to him on the floor. "It'll just be a minute."

"No" problem."He" waited quietly, admiring intricate details of the furniture decoration.

Hikari sat there for a moment,a little awkwardly, before deciding to re-treat back to the kitchen. She prepared the tea quickly and balanced two tea cups on a tray before making her way back to the living room. Setting the tray down, she smiled.

"Thank you." Ken echoed her smile, and reached for the hot cup of tea.
"So how has your day been? Is it safe to assume you’ve received a lot of candies?"Ken chuckled lightly.

Hikari laughed."It's been good" She said, tracing the rim of her cup with a finger.
"And I only received a few."

"A few? That’s odd. I guess good number of us guys just don't have the guts." He shook his head and chuckled. He wondered for a moment if he should take a guess at who gave her presents, but he quickly shook the thought off. After all what if Daisuke hasn't gotten to her yet? Stating the guess will only give hints to Daisuke's feelings.
"This is why being a friend is so much easier. You know, you can just say it's a giri candy in case the other person seem uninterested."
"Yeah..." Hikari said, smiling slightly. "Comes in handy. Saves you from possible rejection."

Ken coughed. “Sadly, I'm not any better from most of the population now that I think about it... since I too am guilty of that.” He smiled sheepishly.

"Really?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Who's the lucky girl?"

"Well. let's just say a year ago from today Daisuke had slapped my back hard after I have given your best friend a chocolate, and said it was a giri choco." Ken shook his head again. "God, it was so...nerve wrecking. I bet even my neck went red then because I felt it in my turtle neck." He laughed, and then sighed. "Though it's all history now." He lowered his head. "But! Enough of depressing
Subject." Ken shot his head up and nudged Hikari. "How about you? Any memorable valentines?"
He sat down more casually, taking in a sip of the tea.

Hikari smiled fondly at Ken's story, imagining Ken all shy and flustered. "Well...memorable valentines...not so much. I've always received chocolate from Takeru and sometimes from Daisuke...but I don't think any of it has ever actually meant much, if anything."

"You never know..." Ken shook his head. Daisuke buddy, you might need to try harder.... He mentally coughed. "Us guys can be really shy. I'm sure it's the same for girls, but in fact I've found girls being more courageous on matters as such. I mean, look at Yamato san's fangirls. They send him chocolate every year despite he hasn't released a lot of singles lately. " He sipped his tea. -

"Just this year alone, I've witnessed two of the most "macho" personalities in my team, worrying for days about risk of being rejected." He smiled a little. "There are individual differences, but usually I find it's either that, or just completely oblivious."

Hikari laughed. Taking a sip of her tea, she smiled. "Yamato-san's fangirls probably send him chocolate because they know there's little chance of anything coming from it. But really putting your heart on the line..." she sighed. "That's another thing entirely.

Ken raised his eyebrow. That sounded heartfelt, but he decided not to pry. He took another sip of the tea. "Yeah... it's difficult." Ken sighed. "I was so scared I avoided receiving answer for two weeks.... a little pathetic if you ask me." He stared out into the veranda, the scenery.

"It's not pathetic..." Hikari said, gazing down at her teacup. "Love...romance...it's a scary thing." She smiled gently.

"But I think...it's beautiful because it's so difficult to obtain it." He smiled, looking at Hikari's face.
"Sometimes I can't help but feeling the world is like an analogue clock, and we're all little pieces in it." He continued, looking at a clock watch fondly. "We all have to work together, and affect each other to make our worlds move. In the process we do get hurt as we grow older, but if we ever stopped trying we'd just stay in one place ne." Ken bit his lips. But...am I trying to move on?-

"Yeah..." Hikari drifted off. Staying in one place... Was that what she was doing. Maybe. "You're right."

Ken contemplated a little to himself and continued sipping his tea. He's wondered if she is in good terms with Takeru, but asking might make her feel uncomfortable.

Sipping her tea, Hikari watched Ken out of the corner of her eye. He had such a good perspective on love...Despite what he had been through with Miyako, it still seemed untainted.

Ken put the cup down and looked at Hikari and smiled. "Hikari san. What would you do if your clock stops? Would you replace the broken piece or try to fix it?" He smiled softly trying to hide mixture of emotions he was feeling from the contemplation.

"I guess...it would depend on the situation. If my clock was broken beyond repair...I suppose I'd replace it. And yet, if I could salvage some of it, I would and I'd try to fix it." Hikari shrugged. "Either way, as long as I had a clock...I'd be content."

He smiled. "Even if it's stopped?"

"Well..." she paused. "Maybe not if it stopped...but hopefully it would get repaired. Somehow. Bit by bit."

Ken nodded. "Thank you." He smiled. "Bit first comes the assessment ne?"

"Right," Hikari said, giggling.

Ken smiled and nodded. Perhaps, this confirmation was just what he needed. Though it's tough for now, all he can do right now is getting the assessment done. With her reply, he confirmed that he didn't need to feel insecure or feel depressed about his current state. He silently mouthed thank you, watching Hikari giggle. -

This was nice. Quiet atmosphere, a real conversation with his friend. Thinking that this light filled atmosphere would never go away, he suddenly recalled one of the reasons he's came to Odaiba. Where the light is, there's also the presence of the darkness. Eyeing the shadow casted by the sitting tea cup upon casting of the ray of sun, he started, after a moment of silence.

"Hikari san. Have you had any nightmares lately?"

Hikari shuddered. Closing her eyes, she was reminded of the visions of the dark ocean, with it's crashing waves and black sky. Opening them, she nodded solemnly. "Have you?"

He brought a hand to his chin. "It has stopped around the beginning of the March, almost too suddenly, but last month I was having a nightmare just about every night." He bit his lips. "It's strange, because I don't recall any of the contexts. All I know is it's been creeping Wormmon out."

Nodding slowly, Hikari set down her cup, now with only a little cold tea left. "Yeah...it was really bad for a while. I was always tired too, no matter how often I slept."

Ken nodded. "But you do remember the context right? If it's not too much problem would you be able to share?" He paused for a second, and continued seriously. "I...do remember bits and pieces of the dream but not entirely. For me, it got so bad I've actually tried to avoid sleep past month." Ken sighed. The blue haired boy wondered if he should share the other 'symptoms' he has experienced past bi-

t as well, but he decided to hold his tongue for now as he didn't wanted to worry his companion.

"I remember being in the dark ocean," Hikari began. "It was like I was reliving that day so many years ago. I could hear the waves, see the fog, hear Takeru and Tailmon's voices...feel the claws of those creatures on my wrist," She cringed, remembering just how awful that day that really been. "And it happened every night. Different little pieces of that day just kept repeating themselves over and over again.

Ken winced at hearing the words. He placed a hand on Hikari's shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "I'm sorry that I've made you recall that dream. " He sighed. "For me, it was a little different."

"What happened?" she asked, looking up at him, worried.

Ken sighed. "To me, the dream is only the small part of what's been happening." He then looked at Hikari's worried face, and smiled. "But no need to worry. It's all stopped now."

Hikari tried to look anything but concerned, but she had a feeling she was failing miserably. "Well...alright..."

He ruffled Hikari's hair. "It's just between you and me ne. I don't want to concern anyone else." He continued. "First of all, I apologise for having to bring up this issue on the first place. I wouldn't have but I have a feeling I was watching your dream, in my nightmare, as I saw your face in that dream in the dark ocean." He paused. "I...only remember the bits and the pieces of the dream, and -

it's very different from what you have described. But I'll first began with how it all began." He sighed. "On February 2nd, my birthday, I had a blackout."

Hikari gasped quietly, a hand flying to her mouth. "A...a blackout?"

Ken nodded. "It definitely wasn't the best day of my life, but at the end of the day I had attempted an escape to the digital world. I recall going inside a cave to hide myself from rain." He bit his lower lip. "But the next morning I was in my bed. I had no memories of what's happened when I was in the digital world, and moreover, after that I started to feel someone's presence whenever I was a-

lone." Furrowing his brows, Ken shuddered.

"Wow..." Hikari said, shivering. "What...could this possibly mean? It's not just coincidence...is it?"

Ken brought a hand over his mouth. "I... hope it is." He turned his head and sighed. "As for feeling someone's presence, I am hoping it was that stalker girl, even, for I don't want to think the otherwise." Ken bit his lips. "And after the black out, I was able to recall the scenes in dreams, piece by piece, whereas it has been hazy before that." He lowered his eyes and stared at the floor.

"What Wormmon has said before the blackout also worried me. He said I was screaming, crying and then laughing. laughing while I was asleep!" He felt his hands start to shake.

Hikari's eyes grew wide. "What...laughing?" she glanced at the floor. This wasn't right...something here was wrong.

Ken looked Hikari in the eyes, his eyes filled with fear. "You don't think it's....."

"No!" Hikari said suddenly, grabbing his shaking wrist to steady it (and herself for that matter). "No, it can't be. It's not."

Ken felt himself shaking. "The little I have remembered of the dream... I think I should tell you." He took in a deep breath to calm himself down, and gave Hikari's hands a hearty squeeze. "Thank you."

"No need to thank me, Ken...I'm always here for you," she squeezed his hands back. "It'll be okay...whatever this is..."

Ken closed his eyes. He felt blood draining from his face, as shiver ran down his spine, but found comfort in a pair of warm hands. Receiving courage to go on, he continued. "It's all disjointed, mostly imageries, though I'm sure I was talking to someone in my dream. I can't remember what he said, except one remark he's said at the end." He shook his head. "But what he's said is a little odd, so I'll elaborate in a little bit." He swallowed hard and continued. "There were past images, of that time." He closed his eyes, feeling the black guilt burning his heart. "and also I saw bits of your dream as well, though I didn't see Takeru myself." He breathed and continued. "There were flashing colours everywhere, but then a huge darkness swallowed it all. Near the end of it, I recall seeing myself laughing, but then I heard a sarcastic voice. I think he has said something elaborate in my dreams, but as I said, I cannot recall."

Hikari suddenly felt very cold. She gave Ken's hands another squeeze, trying desperately to quell their nerves. "What does this mean...? Were we anybody else, I would assume it was just our minds telling us not to let the past get to us," she looked up at him. "But...under the circumstances...I know that's not entirely plausible."

Feeling like a bucket of ice has been dumped onto his head, Ken nodded. "I...tried not to think too much of it, but after reading Gabumon's post awhile back about a black Garurumon, I...started to look into the digital world as well."

"Did you find anything...?"

Ken shook his head. "Thankfully, nothing." Then he smiled, tiring to ease the nerve. "And the dream has stopped now, almost half a month"

Hikari smiled back, feeling slightly better, but she still did not release his hands. "Ah, well, that must be a good sign then, ne?"

Ken nodded. "After all, it just might be a weird re-occurring dream.” Feeling thankful of Hikari's firm grip, he smiled. "After all, the last thing the weird voice said, was "Hah, and I've got better clothes."

Hikari laughed. "Really? See, that is a good sign...maybe, this will all just blow over?" She added hopefully.

Laughing, Ken nodded too. However, he reminded himself that he'll still keep a check on the digital world, perhaps even consult Koushirou san about it. There were still some things he didn't tell Hikari, but he's decided this was more than enough. "Thank you. Hikari san." He looked at her face, and smiled, gently withdrawing his hands. "It's a relief, that the dream has stopped for both of us, and

that there's no overlap. I'll...try not to think too much on it."

Hikari nodded in agreement, smiling back at him. "Me too."

"Do you want to maybe stay for a while?" Hikari asked, grinning. "We could watch a movie or something? We don't see each other enough, after all, so when we do, we should try and make it last, ne?"
"Please." The judo player smiled gently at his companion. A movie, a good laugh should help lighten the atmosphere, and enable him to forget about the topic of the discussion.

"Any requests?" Hikari said, strolling over to the couch. "Onii-chan has practically every movie known to man."
"Really? I didn't know Taichi san liked movies." Ken paused to think a little. "Do you...by any chance have V-for Vandetta? I've heard great things about that movie, but never got the chance to check it out myself."
"Ah, but anything you like is fine too. Of course." He smiled.

"Ah, Onii-chan has that one!" Hikari said, excitedly, running over to pluck the DVD from the shelf. "And you're the guest, so what you say goes!" She inserted the movie into the player and settled back into the couch. "Sit down, sit down!" Her spirits were much lighter now...this was a much needed distraction.

"Have you watched this movie before?" As the advertisements ran, he asked the brown haired girl.

Hikari shook her head. "I haven't, actually."

"That's great." He smiled.
