Ken paused for a moment taking in the beautiful contrast of pink sakura blossom buds against the gray rainy sky. It was quite a sight, seeing the fresh flowers scatter as the harsh raindrops fiercely attacked them. The boy just stood mesmerized in midst of the scattered petals, as he's lost his umbrella in harsh wind. As the branches continued to ride on the wave of the wind-a futile effort to save its children- he turned his gaze to street only to see waves of people trampling on the white buds. He furrowed his brows.
He wondered what the heck he is doing in Shibuya alone.
Free day was rarity of late and he was sure if he was in the right set of the mind frame, he'd be soaking in the bath tub right about now.
He turned his gaze to find a group of high school girls walking out of a cake shop, joking and chit chatting excitedly amongst each other.
The taller girl with long hair and glass nudged the shorter girl with the bob, and they walked away walking arm in arm with their laughter scattering like water drops hitting the window glass.
Somehow, the whole atmosphere was so familiar, despite the fact he knew neither of the girls.
Feeling the back of his heart warming up a little, Ken found himself walking towards the confectionary shop.
He stood alone outside of the shop, gaze still tracing the girls fading into the crowd.
Snapping back into reality, he quickly turned around. "What the hell was that for?"
After all, what was he doing wondering the streets in the first place?
He turned to his right to catch beautifully decorated white cake on the display.
Oh.
Then he realized.
Tomorrow is Miyako's birthday.
