Dancing like it's 1922

If I'd known that I was a pretty decent dancer, I would have done Dance Alloy.

We started learning the dance numbers for 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' this week. Today we learned the speakeasy scene/dance, which is entitled, "The Nuttycracker Suite". Genius. Anyway, this is a HUGE dance number, and I was both looking forward to it and dreading it. But that dance is actually my favorite one so far. It's so much fun, and it's fast-paced and just plain crazy. Which makes sense, suppose, considering that we get drunk and then get arrested at the end of the dance.

Seriously, it almost makes me want to do Dance Alloy this year. Maybe. I don't know. Truthfully, it would depend on whether or not I'm in the fall play. (Update: They're replacing Charles. It's so sad................Really. So, so sad................Why are you looking at me like that?) At least I know that I can move my hips around. That's apparently a requirement for most Dance Alloy numbers.

In other news, I'm hoping that I'm not developing carpal tunnel syndrome. Yesterday I started a very tedious project on the computer at the library, and about an hour into it, my wrist started hurting like no tomorrow. But I still had a few hours of work ahead, so I could hardly stop. I finished the same project this morning, but luckily I came prepared with an Ace bandage. Crisis averted!

And now for a bit of sad news: 'Avenue Q' is closing on Broadway soon. Although I figured it would close soon (Yes, I'm one of those freaks who follows weekly capacity and gross income rates), it is a little scary, because 'Wicked' came out the same year. Course, 'Wicked' also has 100% capacity and over a million dollars weekly. I don't think they'll be closing that any time soon. *knock on wood*
