This made me squee severely. I have a NENA fetish and won't deny it. I have followed her career from the start; was just a child when she appeared on the scene. I love her and, in hindsight, she just might have been my first female crush. I love all she stands for in terms of my own history ( Read more... )

My best friend at age eight was my neigbor Robin. A cute blond girl, born into a VERY religious family.

She married very young (at 14 - I heard) and now lives somewhere in Montana.

They were Mormons.

I often wonder what her life is like now.

Her Dad was some sort of an important figure in the church.

They were the first people I met that actually said Grace before dinner.

So many religious groups here, it just amazes me. In Europe it's basically catholics and protestants and that's it without these 50000 subgroups. Some of the American ones literally sound like sects/cults to me. It's funny how the US officially seperates church and state because compared to European countries who do not, America is in fact FAAAAAR more religious and "god" is quoted every 5 minutes, including on money and other government-related things. Not to mention the uhhh, so-called "President" and other political figures. It really makes no sense at all. /observation of the unreligious. :P

Maybe you could google your friend or find her on classmates.com - I've found some people that way I never thought I would find.

ehh - someday, we never went to the same school though - she went to private school and I don't know the name.

I do remember her maiden name - but I bet I'll have to pay one for one of those 'find a person' services....and that seems a bit 'stalkish' to me ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't pay for that kind of thing either. It's annoying how everything on the net in being turned into a business. I still remember the beginnings when everything was free.
