Excitement, Overseas Travel and Really Good Sex

I'm feeling tired and sluggish, a sure sign of too many carbs consumed. Had Fettuccine Alfredo - delicious but heavy, really not a good choice. A dish by that name doesn't even exists in Italy which is funny in itself. It's like "German Chocolate Cake" or "German Potato Salad" - eh, what? There are 500 ways to make either and they differ greatly. I ( Read more... )

Ah yes, I heard Jamie Oliver has taken on that project. I think it may even be on the Food Newtwork here but I haven't seen it. Sounds like a good idea anyway. Generally, I do think it's more a matter of choice over in Europe though. Here I just saw a docu again that states that 60% of the foods eaten by Americans have been genetically modified/engineered in some way. It's really scary, actually. I believe in Europe, people tend to take a more active role in protesting, learning where their food comes from etc. My family and people I know there definitely do.

Here most people seem to sit idle, and all the GMO food doesn't even have to be labelled. Apart from that, the US is trying to force other countries into buying their GMO'ed crops and seeds, and mostly gets away with it. There are lawsuits going on over it between Europe and the US. Apparently, they're now also forcing Iraqi farmers to use this stuff, it's like a giant science project - and threaten to cut off aid funds to developing countries that do not want to use their GMO'd crap. The whole thing is just disgusting. The practices here are more than questionable. I'll post a YouTube video on this later.

i guess it's the intelligence gap (that might sound arrogant) but I think people who are conscious of themselves and their lives tend to care more what they eat and do, that's why most obese people are those who are unemployed or employed in the low wage segment of society.
I definitely think it's that way here, or in england for that matter. I'm not trying to generalise this but, that's my personal observation yaknow.

and that 60% fact is just shocking, i didn't know it was that far already. People here start freaking about gene-corn, and start threatening farmers and destroy their harvest. I think people in europe tend to discuss things more than in the US, the government in the us practicies (not just in this matter) a brainwashing policy. Make changes, pass a bill and then make people believe it's what they want and what's best for them. Goes hand in hand with a fucked up (excuse my language) education system, that prevents children from learning to think outside the (american)box
