Sometimes it snows in April

We're having the most crazy weather. We'd call it Aprilwetter in Germany but usually, there isn't such a thing here. I was about to go grab some lunch at the pier and feast upon it by the beach when suddenly, the sky darkened apocalypse-style, and the weather went from sunny/no-clouds to fat gray rain clouds and *hail*! This is highly unusual for Southern California. The crazy wind that was blowing all night and into the day has suddenly stopped and the clouds of doom are hovering. It's funny and at the same time it makes me happy. Any unusual movement in weather is a special event in a place where sameness rules. As I type, the sun is suddenly out again in all its brilliance, peeking through the dark clouds.

Ten minutes later, it looked like this outside my door:

Ahhhh, California. =)
