In an act of complete laziness, I'm copying this directly from my Yahoo 360, smiley things and all, just because I can:

So I'm leaving on an 18-day trip to Europe next week.

Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

I just left a message on your entry in "newfriends". My parents lived the expat life so I grew up in different countries. Welcome to my LJ. =)

That's awesome that you're going to Europe. Where all are you going? I'm hoping to get back there next summer.

I'm going to Germany to spend time with my parents and friends. It's home to me. Where all have you been in Europe? Where do you want to go next time? I go once or twice a year, usually.

That's one country I haven't been to yet, though I know a few people there. I've been to England, Scotland, Iceland, Italy (all over, incl. living in Rome for 2 months), France (only Nice, and very briefly), and technically Switzerland but not really. Where I go next time depends on how much time I have because I really want to go all over. Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway... the list goes on and on. I'd also like to eventually see Russia.

What about you? Since you're from that area I assume you've seen at least several if not many of these countries.

That's great. I really like France and Spain of that list... And Germany, of course! *Patriotically waves her little flag*, hehe. I grew up on 3 continents {including Europe} so travel was always a given. I've been to most European countries, except the Easterns ones with few exceptions. Everything's so different over there. I miss crossing borders for the weekend and being surrounded by a completely different culture. The USA really sucks that way and seems so shut off, cut off and provincial in many ways. Which of these countries appealed to you the most... and why? I'm always curious about these things.

I've never been able to really travel around Germany much, but still want to.

Can you recommend some decent cities/sites/areas to see? When I get back to Europe (in two weeks!) my boy friend and I want to go somewhere for a weekend, and I was thinking about heading up to Germany.

What do you like to do? Generally speaking, visitors tend to like the South... Bavaria, the Black Forest and places along the Rhine and Mosel rivers for castles, wine tasting, the Romantic Roads and that fairytale kind of landscape everyone seems to picture when they think of Germany. Abroad, any ideas of Germany basically just circle around Bavaria so the Southern states provide exactly what people expect ( ... )

I hope you have a blast! I'm kinda jealous, still searching for an excuse, any excuse to just travel somewhere. Doesn't look too promising though, boring!

Awww, thank you. I'm sure it will happen one of these days. How's the NYC thing going, are you still moving?

Hmmm, to tell you the truth, I don't even know! lol Their saying by the Thanksgiving holiday, but I don't wanna get excited anymore only to have my hopes crushed.

Ahhh, another night owl, or is that early bird? I hope NYC works out and you guys can celebrate the holidays there with everything already in place! That'd be such a cool place to be. I love the energy of the city but have never actually lived there, only visited. Have you been, or would this be a jump-into-cold-water kind of move?

Also ein grosses WHATEVAAAA halt. ;) Hat das Praktikum geklappt? Muss gleich mal nachlesen bei dir.
