Lannie: who said it was normal? it just happened that way. it isn't a law that every person must marry someone of the opposite gender. so why is there a rule against people who want to marry of the same gender?

Derek: but they ARE sticking it up everybody's ass by ruining the normal, traditional family values, and not to mention social and religious values
Lannie: can you say all heterosexual marriages hold family values and religious values? you can't because it's not true. so, if abusive marriages are commited under the eyes of God, what makes you think they are any better than homosexual relationships? don't get me wrong, i'm not saying homosexual relationships are all fine and dandy as well.
Lannie: because it's a marriage, there are bound to be problems. i'm saying that, if you think that homosexuals go against those norms so much, why not take out what is corrupt in the norm first?
Lannie: and don't give me family bullshit. because homosexuals can adopt. meaning, they help the orphans who HETEROSEXUAL couples throw away.

And you wonder why I want no part in this world we live in. If I die tomorrow holding my beliefs, I will go down content.
And trust me, I know all the things I could have called him on. But I have had this conversation with him before, and his friend's so many times now that I don't bother any more. Why waste time on people who just don't get it? Now I understand how the teachers felt when I just didn't get math.
