If anything I should state it just because today's date is pretty spiffy, what being 08-08-08 and all. Today was my birthday. I was going to post this really cool drawing a friend of mine did for me, but alas, she ran off with it when she went hope before I got the chance to even remember it. I'll definitely put up a scan later, I'm sure a few of

You have the most current model of the PSP, which is good. Sony tends to abandone older models of their hardware leaving early adopters to fend for themselves, so you're good there! As for memory, as long as it's that Memory Stick Pro Duo (I think that's the type of memory stick the PSPs take) it doesn't really matter what brand you use. Don't spend extra on Sony's brand if you don't need to. Sometimes you can get special deals with the Sony brands, like a free movie download, which might be a perk, but really depends. And those UMD movies, they're mostly phased out, but some pop up here and there. Honestly, I'd rather just rip one of my DVDs and convert it to PSP format. Two of the best video conversion software packages I've found are Videora and Super Convert.
Videora: It seems like they split up the software to do it, but I know Videora used to do it all on it's own. Try downloading ver 2.0 and see if there is a PSP profile format already there, if not then apparently you have to download the PSP Video 9 plugin

Super Convert: Their website is extremely confusing so I took you as far into the site as I could to get to the download. You can scroll down to the bottom and there should be a link down there that says "Download SUPER © setup file", clicking on that will start a download for ya.

I meant to get back to you sooner.
I ended up using SUPER convert. It was a wierd recursion to get the DL.
I had purchased the component video cables already to play on my TV, so it works well. I discovered that the PSP supports a single depth of subdirectories under VIDEO to help sort. I also include a TXT such as VID13123_Buffy_Animated.txt to tell me what it is via USB :)
I ended up with an 8GB stick for 80$ (sony's was 90$, IIRC)
Thanks!
