VKLive: The Swag
Vogue Knitting Live is over and it was awesome! I met so many fantastic people, sometimes putting a face to the voice or social media handle. Even getting a chance to chat with other vendors and the staff made the experience grand. I always find it a good sign when one of my first thoughts is I can’t wait to do that again!
I have plenty of yarn to show for it. And a shop update coming soon. There are a few things like the 12 doctors set of stitch markers that are up for grabs. Even spending most of the time in the booth I was able to wander away once or twice.
Across the way from my booth, was the vendor that I spent most of the weekend staring at her fantastic yarns. Angela of Molly Girl Yarn she had great yarns. I held myself back to only two skeins that need to become something together.
Indigo Dragonfly was also on my floor and somehow I ended up with a skein of “Beige” Somehow.
Two of the visitors to my booth, actually told me about the StevenBe yarns and that I had go there. The little tag behind the larger tag says “Nerd Alert Yarns”, I think the only surprise is that I only made off with two skeins. Smash, and Gotham City. I was tempted by so many Doctor Who references. So many! And Welcome to the Hellmouth. Of course I was.
I also made a quick stop in the Neighborhood Fiber Co. booth. As I’m still working on Bayside, I decided I could just make off with a single skein of worsted, in Studio North. And that was tough.
Two skeins of Dragonfly Fibers in Squishy lace in Cognac and Winter Woods. They are going to be turned into an Unexpected Journey Shawl, which Andrea (Hi! if you see this) was wearing in the booth and then helped me choose good colors for. I suppose after I do the Follow your Arrow 2. Clue one is out but I haven’t looked as I’m working from home today and that means that the yarn is in easy reach…
There were whole parts of the vending floor I never got to, but that’s likely a good thing. A safe thing, seeing Loop from a distance once, is safe. Though I don’t know how I forgot to grab some Jill Draper. Maybe I will just wait till fall and see if I can get some Empire. I also got a set of 0000 (1.2mm) needles for my hobbit along scarf. I think that is saner than plying the yarn right? I will pretend I don’t remember the rage and the never again from the 000 dalek.
And lastly a set of squares in size two to test out. I will see if the Unexpected Journey shawl will work for that. I am attempting lace again. We will see how that goes.
