From Fluff to FO

This FO  Friday post is going to be a little different as I’m going to be talking about some old FOs.  I’ve been thinking about spinning, and doing more with my spinning and I remember it being mentioned more than once that to get good at spinning you need to do two things. Spin! Shocking I know. And knit with your spinning. I haven’t been doing as much of the second as I should. One of the reasons I jumped on the DSPAKAL was the idea that I would finish some spun yarn and then not put it away for an indeterminate amount of time.

I have had good luck turning my hand spinning into projects, and I need to remind myself to do it more often.

My Cowl on fire worked out almost magically. I had a single ply worsted yarn and no idea what to do with whatsoever when it was finished I decided on a cowl, and then ran through a few patterns, before settling on designing my own. Which worked out well. It’s a fun squishy cowl, that’s great for blocking out cold winds.

Much more recently my Five Armies Cowl out of Zauberzeug fiber also has been coming in handy as the perfect cowl to tuck into a coat, or wear over your face when the polar vortex comes to visit.

My alpaca and wool hat has been getting me through the winters.

There are a few more projects I could throw in here a couple more hats. But even adding those in I finish far more fiber than I knit. Perhaps the crazy sweater plan is the way to go.  I have, skeins that are years old collecting dust. Its time to add to the fluff to FO pile.  I have yarns waiting.

And they are all quite nice.
