5KCBWDAY5: Something A Bit Different

May 16, 2014 12:36

Day5: It’s the annual challenge to blog in a way different to how you normally blog.

I’ve decided to post photos of things that have been inspiring me lately. Some have designs swatched and some are still ideas but its interesting the things I sometimes snap a photo of and think of recreating in yarn/beads or some other medium.  I tend to usually share the finished product not the item that gets the idea going. So here are some idea starters, with finished products to follow.

The George Washington Bridge as seen from the Washington Heights side, at the Bus stop. A view I have every workday I head into the office, which is most of them.

Crossing the Queens-borough Bridge.

Roots of a Beech tree I used to walk past daily when I worked in Prospect Park and was the starting point for a tour I gave. And a surprisingly identifiable point for a place to meet when heading to a park. “We’ll meet at the tree.”

A Butterfly gate at the Brooklyn Museum.

Hounds tooth Place mat.

The Jean Paul Gautier exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

Some Paris street art.

Where do you get inspiration from?

beads, craft
