PICs: Photography Meme (& I took off that Facebook thingy)
I have some pics to share! If you want to request pics, you still can, in this post or the last one. What? I got a new camera and I loff it! I'm starting this off w/ a Funny Work Story, w/ Pictorial Evidence.
Okay, so I am the tech guru in my office (as I am a Luddite, basically, this is a scary prospect). At any rate, I've told them all, several times a month, for several years, how to call two different people and loop them into a three-person conference call. This is how you do it: you call one person, you hit the flash button, you call the other person, you hit the flash button. That's it. Nothing else required. I have sent them this in email form, more than once. I have even printed out the directions and everyone has them posted up in their cubby/office. THEY STILL CAN'T GET IT! Now, I have oodles of respect for higher education, advanced degrees, lotsa learning. I work w/ two lawyers and two others that have Masters degrees. Three of them are completely bilingual, and one is quadlingual. These are not stupid people. But they can't make a fucking phone call. They also cannot transfer a phone call. Guess what button you press to transfer a call? Yeah. Transfer. Anyhow, yesterday my coworker is on the phone and she needs to call two people. She calls the first one and then yells to me, "What do I do now?! Help!" I say, "Look at your sheet. You hit flash." A moment passes. "It didn't work!" "Did you hit flash?" "Yes! I'm going to try again." Another moment passes. "It didn't work!! Come fix it." "Well, maybe your number is wrong. You hit the flash button, I don't know what to tell you." A moment. "Wait. The flash button says flash? It's not a star?" "If I had wanted you to hit the star, I would have told you to hit the fucking star." The phone, w/ numbers post-it-ed and painted out:

I'm not a lush. I saved all the Pimms bottles in case we needed them for Virtual Series ephemera. Honest! And the other pic is my liquor cabinet, otherwise known as the microwave cart.

Poor paragraphs got pestered by me all day yesterday, and gave me the following prompts: pink, notebook, thumb drive, puppy, fishbowl. Then she asked to see my condiments and spices.
I don't like condiments. Ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, salad dressing -- ew. So I took a pic of what passes for condiments in my fridge. I don't know why I have so many different chili sauces. Huh. I never use them. Everything else, yes. And I took the spices out of the cupboard so you could actually see them, too!
ETA: kadiel_krieger asked for five items I could not live without. Here are five items w/out even leaving my bedroom!
I was going to include my computer, and chocolate, but the chocolate's in the kitchen and my computer's a kind of obvious choice. So I went w/ my chapstick (#1, mos def -- I have been addicted to chapstick for over 20 years -- I like this eco-friendly brand, alba -- very non-greasy), my alarm clock (it's late, I should go to bed -- it's the perfect size for taking on trips, plus I don't have a watch), soft kleenex (Kleenex Ultra -- not w/ lotion, but extra soft kleenex, as I have allergies), my Honest Tea (I think I'm addicted to this now, too), and two pillows, which I counted as one thing (I need both pillows to sleep -- technically, don't have to be these two particular pillows, but I am very picky about my pillows and they totally affect the amount and quality of sleep I get -- I need two to sleep well). Holy shit, I am the most boring person ever!
And a final note, about the Facebook stuff -- I will not be crossposting either posts or comments, I'd appreciate it if you didn't crosspost my crap. I think I took the ability off my LJ, but I AM a Luddite, so...
