Our intern's last day was today, and as he did not like cupcakes (this was the one and only negative about him; he was a totally awesome and hard-working intern), but did like pie, I made my world famous, award-winning vegan apple walnut tarts.

When I say world famous and award-winning, I mean they placed third in my company, which is ( Read more... )

Hmmm, interesting. What type of apple is a Macintosh? I don't think we have them. Green or red? Replace with something tartand quite firm, yeah?

Macintosh, or I guess I spelled that wrong, McIntosh, apples are red, but w/ green highlights? They're tart, but not too tart. I definitely wouldn't substitute something like a Granny Smith apple for them. They are rather firm, which makes them easier to dice. Definitely don't replace w/ a mushy apple like Golden Delicious or Red Delicious. Here is a wiki about McIntosh apples:

Come visit me. I shall make you pie.

I read something somewhere of Misha talking about getting royalty checks from Liberty Heights, even though he had such a small part, and how that helped him out when he was young. I have not seen the movie, but I'm glad it's one of your favorites and now it makes you think of me! As you should.

They take me awhile, b/c I am super anal about dicing the apples, but they are definitely worth it!
