That was amazing, the imagery, the characterizations, the dialogue. I loved the lost memories, such a heart-breaking touch, and you've done such a beautiful job with their connection, the power of a mother and daughter and a shared life.

Wonderful work ♥

Thank you so much! I had originally looked at the prompt and thought "partner" in a romantic sense, but when I sat down to write it, I got an idea for Ellen & Jo instead of a different pairing. Damn I miss them!

Well you already know that I loved this :) But I wanted to say it again. I am very impressed by your ability to so wonderfully characterise these two women. I can see it all happening, and when Jo asks if she can call Ellen 'mom'.. ergh. gutted.

I love the trampling of the old green shirt too. That they survive, but not unbroken.

Thanks so much for your help w/ this, sweetheart! The mother-daughter relationship isn't really one I've written before, and I love Ellen & Jo. So much potential! Argh.

I really loved this story.

When Jo says that memories are "No loss," it's such a punch to the gut. Ellen is so obviously relieved and disappointed at the same time. And going through all of the memories as the demon kills each one, so heartbreaking and such a nice look into their past.

And Ellen's annoyance about how it always comes down to the Winchesters.

I love that demon absorbs some of Jo's personality.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment!

We only ever got such brief glimpses into the lives of Ellen & Jo, and always in how they related to the Winchesters, that I wanted to include something that was just THEM. But of course, in Supernatural, everything DOES relate back to the Winchesters, so I had to include that dig. Their shared memories, aspects of their personalities are quite a big sacrifice for them to make.

Oh my lord Blue, this was amazing. Doesn't matter I don't follow SPN (GASP!), this story was about a mother fighting for her daughter's life, something I easily relate to, and what a fight! I swear I got chills. ANd omg...love the killed memories, and also the realization that the demon was taking on her daughter's attitude. Grin.

Beautifully written. And I really do love that fight. Woo!

Thanks for reading, C!!!! I appreciate it. :) I'm glad the relationship resonated with you. (And I really, really like writing fights. Especially gory ones! There's something wrong w/ me...)

Just wanted to let you know how awesome this is! The Winchesters aren't the only family to be forever broken by the supernatural. Jo losing those memories of her childhood that were so important to Ellen and then being so cavalier about it was heartbreaking. Great fic, thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! I think Ellen and Jo were both great characters, and I was sad to see them go. So much potential for tragedy!
