I woke up to rain. Grey skies. Damp. Matt had to leave early. He is working outside today. I surprised him as we opening the bedroom door at the same time. Me stumbling out just waking, and him coming back in for some article of clothing, most likely his socks.
Tea and cornflakes.
I decided to match and that gray slacks and a black denim jacket would be best, along with my wool beret. Berets get a bad rap for being too terribly French; but on a rainy, drizzly day, a beret pulled down over your ears can be a lifesaver.
Yesterday I never left my pajamas. This is a habit I attempt to hold onto for at least one day every week or two. There is something delicious about just curling up on your own space and enjoying all the things that we in America are so good at amassing.
I cross stitched a bookmark. A trifle of a thing really, but after I modified the pattern and threads it became something far more interesting than originally published in the leaflet I bought. Using over-dyed , metallic, and silk threads it is turning into something quite grand. Which is a little funny when you reflect that its only job, really, is to hold my page. A task which any scrap of paper does quite well. I suppose that part of the joy of being in your pajamas all day includes being able to do tasks of a purely aesthetic nature.
I had intended to read, along with stitching, but that fell to the side. Did manage to do 65 sit-ups. Not a bad start really. I have been getting a little physically slothful and that, while fine on occasion, is not a good long term plan.
Rain brings out my introverted size. It is a good day to work quietly.
