Closing one door to open another

The end of the semester is rolling to a stop. I have one week left here then it is back to working on my wonderful forklift. It has been a great year filled with lots of laughter and love. There is nothing I would change about it. Stephanie and I managed to make it through the school year as roommates and we are still friends (which I am happy about). I guess I never doubted our ability to be roommates and best friends. Next year we will have another roommate and I don't foresee any problems. It will definitely take a little time to get used to but it will work out.

Ryan and I have been dating now for 11 months. We started dating long distance and didn't see each other physically a lot but we had constant communication. Then when we came here we had more access to see each other everyday. I would say that we definitely took advantage of that. I have been learning more and more that time for myself is important. Also I like to make sure Ryan has time to spend with others because I am not always there. I would say that it has taken me a while but I have figured out ways of doing this. Second semester we have also started doing group activities so it is not just us going into the room and ignoring the other people. I enjoy playing games with groups because it is no longer like we are a couple but rather two friends joining other friends for fun.

Honestly I believe that I have grown tremendously throughout the year. I am more comfortable with myself then I have ever been before. Although I can stand to loose a little weight I feel good about my body. I have never ever been able to say that before. I have learned that having fun is what you make it. Sometimes the most fun thing that I can do is just talking with someone about the hypothetical thing or even playing 20 questions. (SMIRK)

Even though I closed one door after I graduated high school, opening the next door has been a journey. I have found that door and have opened it. Where it will lead me I do not know, but wherever it goes I am sure it will be an adventure especially when I have Stephanie and Ryan to travel with.
