Toto seems to think he is still a puppy, though he is pushing 12. It's hard to believe but he ended up tiring out the kids...which is a very good thing. Michiko hasn't been sleeping through the night the last couple of nights and Yukio has decided that he will keep her company. So sleep has been non-existent

Daisuke also believes he's still a puppy. He's a nice distraction after a long day at work. =)

Toto still tries to jump up to lick our faces when we walk through the door. He still can't make it but he tries. You should bring the dogs over one day. Michiko wants to show you that she can handle eating spicy foods.

I need to bring the dogs over. It's so funny to see Daisuke and Rika, who are both easily five times his size, do whatever Toto says. =)

Michiko can handle spicy foods now? I am so proud of my little sister. =D And I want to see Yukio's artwork. He's good for his age.

I think Toto has been lost without them. Beauty, while she does look up to him she hasn't followed him around lately. It's too hot for her.

She has been trying things from my plate and has enjoyed them. And she's helping out in the kitchen too so it's been interesting. She wants to cook for you. And Yukio has a pile of pictures for you to decorate your office with. I think he wants to go to visit you at work to bring them to you.

Daisuke and Rika have both finished the Puppy Armageddon of shedding their winter coats-the entire place was coated in dog hair for weeks. So they're really excited for the summer, and of course they both love to play with Toto.

Awww, she's so cute! =) I will happily try her cooking. And Yukio visiting would be great, my office is kid-friendly. I recommend visiting after six if he wants to come to the office.

Beauty's hair is like stepping on needles. It is so sharp but I think she's more comfortable now. I just mentioned your name and Toto ran to the door and Beauty's tail started going crazy. You have to visit now.

She might make you wear an apron. When you're in her kitchen you have to wear one. Yukio designed aprons for each of us and both you and Tezuka have one. He wants to wrap it up and give it to you. Make sure you act surprised.

I'm so happy that my dogs have soft fur, because we literally have a new carpet of it. It's so cute that Toto still runs to the door after all these years. =) Puppies just want to play.

...Okay, that's adorable, and I will make sure to be very surprised. I'll see if I can convince Kunimitsu to come with me. He now has child patients and doesn't quite understand how to interact with children. In fact, he's upset because one of the kids called him the boring doctor and asked for the nice one next time-and of course, he was nice to them. =)

We still only have to say "Where's your brother?" and he will run between the door and the window. He needs a trim as well, but won't sit still long enough.

The most adorable thing? Getting the twins ready for bed the other night. They started whispering to each other and then Miko asked if you were their brother or their uncle. They said you'd make a good big brother but you're pretty cool as an uncle.

And I saw about Tezuka having children as patients. He is welcome to practice on the twins. It is a game for them to try to get him to smile.

That's so cuuuute! =) I told Daisuke the other day to "get Syuusuke," and he got my wrist in his mouth and tugged me to the door-because the only way that he could follow my command was to go outside.

Awww! Miko and Yukio are so cute, and mostly behaved. I'm thinking that Kunimitsu won't be as overwhelmed by them as he would Terry's kids-who are adorable, but crazily energetic. I should show them our wedding pictures to prove that Kunimitsu does smile rather nicely.

He is still doing that? That is adorable. I think I need to get some pictures of the dogs together. It's hard to believe they aren't puppies any longer.

They behave when they are around others. I almost wish they had been old enough to go to the wedding. Bring over your wedding pictures and I will show you pictures of the twins as babies sleeping on Daisuke. He is such a good dog.

He does it for everything! Still gets us and leads us to his leash or toys or food bowls-and on occasion, the treat basket. =) Rika's picked up the same habit, but she's moving slower than usual, as we have a pregnant dog on our hands. Daisuke's old for an Akita, but he's so healthy. We think that he has a couple of years left in him.

They probably would have slept through the wedding! And I'd love to see those pictures. It was so cute when we found them like that. =) We got really lucky with Daisuke and Rika. Akitas don't really like other animals or children, but we exposed them early enough to that.

He is a smart dog. I still can't believe Rika's pregnant. Have you taken her to the vet yet? And Daisuke will definitely last a few more years. I'm almost afraid of Toto and Beauty dying.

We had Daisuke around Toto the day you got him. The twins probably smell like Toto since he sleeps in their room. It's cute to walk in and find them both sleeping and he's laying in between them.

We did take her to the vet, and she's definitely pregnant and in good shape. We have instructions on how to keep her and her pups healthy. I know we want to keep one or two, my parents want one, and we know we can find good homes for the rest. She could be having up to ten puppies.

We're insanely careful with their health, and we probably irritate Kaidou on a regular basis with questions. =) But large breed dogs can have so many terrible health problems that move quickly if not treated, so it's kind of justified. Not to mention that we love our doggies to death.

Toto really helped calm Daisuke down, I think, since he went from his mother to the shelter to us in less than a month. Toto is such a mama dog.
