First year is over. I have less than six days left in uni accommodation before I'm kicked out. I can't believe it.
Got a potential house lined up for second year. David and I will find out tomorrow if we get it. There are already seven students living there, and they're looking for two others. There's a couple of cats, a grand piano, two kitchens, several bathrooms, two living rooms, a conservatory, a garden...bit of a change from Hermits Croft. And, it's considerably cheaper than what we'd be expecting to pay for a flat. Hopefully we'll get it. Plus, the lease starts July 4th which means only two weeks at home, back in Alloa, and then I'd be spending the summer in Edinburgh.
Of course that also means finding a job, most likely full time. The thought of a full time job does not appeal. Tough shit, I suppose. I just don't want to work full time at Biblos, as it's six days a week, quite long shifts and plenty of late finishes, probably. Should be easy enough to find some other job, though. There'll be plenty of work going over the festival period. I've never even been in Edinburgh during the festival. Living there should be ace.
Finished exams. I'm such a lazy bastard, and expected to fuck at least one of them up, but turns out I have picked up quite a lot. The one I'd resigned myself to failing, Public Law, seemed to go swimmingly...which worries me slightly.
Spent all of today out in the sun. Charlie's 21st Birthday - she's a girl on my course, and a friend of David's. We sat out in the meadows and had a picnic, got drunk on countless bottles of wine (there was much fleeceage of her parents) and then went hill rolling.
The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day...and as a result I'm totally fucking sunburnt. Luckily I wore a long sleeved t-shirt and jeans, so my body is as pale as ever (phew!), but my neck, hands, face and ears are burning.
Just about to jump in the shower. I think I'm being dragged to The Mission tonight, which is a fortnightly metal night at Studio 24. Been wanting to go for ages, but I'm really tired. The sun always completely drains me. Don't think I have much say in the matter, though...so better go get ready.
Oh, one more thing. Watched Lost Highway last night. Very weird film, even for David Lynch. Loved the soundtrack...it was very weird. Lots of Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, David Bowie, Lou Reed. I think Reznor compiled it. The scene with (blonde) Patricia Arquette stripping off in front of Mr Ed to Marily Manson - I Put a Spell on You was very very good.
