I'm proud to be a back up for the DWP Secret Santa.  This is for  gayfortinafey   They asked for a Serena/Emily fic of any kind, and this is the first time I've written for this pairing, so I hope you'll be gentle.  I had a good time writing this story and this pairing.

Never Let You Go

Emily/Serena

Quick Note: There are a few Portuguese phrases as Serena is from Brazil.  I thought it added to the story.  Now, I don’t speak Portuguese, I used a translator program, so if you speak Portuguese and I’ve got it wrong, you have my sincere apologies and feel free to tell me where I went wrong.
Brief translations are in italics.  Otherwise, I hope you enjoy this short tale.

“That woman was wearing a bloody paper sack!”  Emily complained pointing at the medium sized flat screen television in between munching on light popcorn.

“Em, it’s not that bad!  You know celebrities don’t know how to dress themselves,” explained Serena, Emily’s best friend and co-watcher of the 2008 Oscars channel E pre-show.   “Do you want another Appletini or a Diet Coke?”  They had already eaten hot wings.  The Oscars was their Superbowl and it was the third year in a row that they were watching it together.  They usually turned the sound down on the pre-show and the show itself and had a running commentary about the Fashion.  They even had the next day off, so they could sleep off any hang overs.

“I’m don’t need another drink right now,” the red head waved her hand distracted, never letting her gaze stray from the television.

Serena rolled her eyes as she walked into the kitchenette in her apartment, even though whenever Emily came over it felt like it was her apartment.  The Brazilian muttered, “Você parece bem e está bem.” You look fine and you are fine.

“I can still hear you when you speak Portuguese,” hollered Emily.  “That’s annoying.”  The British girl had always been irritated with Serena’s habit of speaking her native tongue.

“Meu Deus, ela é irritante!”  My god she is annoying!  Serena walked out of the kitchen after downing another Appletini, walked into the living area and looked at her friend still engrossed with the red carpet.  She looked at Emily with such longing.

“Hedi Klum looks divine as usual,” although the words were kind, the tone was sarcastic.  “Nicole Kidman looks acceptable but she could....   Serena what-“ Emily’s eyes always seemed big, but they looked like pie plates.

Serena had stripped down to her hot pink bikini panties and was looking at Emily like the models look at jelly donuts at the end of Fashion week.  Her skin was a golden bronze all over, her generous breasts firm and high, flat stomach, and legs that went on forever.  She looked like a goddess.  A goddess that had both of her brown nipples pierced.

In fact Serena’s breasts were so perfect, Emily couldn’t stop staring at them.  She felt her mouth go very dry.  “Um I could go for another drink,” she stammered as Serena began stalking toward her. “Don’t you want to watch the...  Are you drunk?” Emily asked as Serena straddled her on the couch.

The Brazilian cupped Emily’s face and looked deep into her eyes, “Você é linda.”  You are beautiful.  Emily, unresisting was pulled into a very wet and hot kiss.  She felt her clothes being pulled off, then she followed the sexy body and luscious lips to Serena’s bed room.  Then there were caresses, licking, sucking and  a cornucopia of sensual haze.

Dimly Emily realized that not only was this the best sex she had ever had, there was also something different.  At least twice Serena had pulled back and given her that searching gaze and whispered, “Eu te amo.”  I love you.  She had also cried the same words out after the red head had brought her to a stunning climax.  The words may have been spoken in another language, but they spoke to Emily’s heart.  Serena was still rubbing her sweaty back and murmuring in her ear when Emily realized that as cliche as it sounded, they had been doing something that she had never done before. Making love.  This was her last thought as she fell asleep.

Emily woke with a start.  She was naked but covered up with the bed sheets.  She and the bed smelled of sex.  Her seducer and best friend was missing.  The red head briefly wondered if Serena had left and treated her like a one night stand, but then she remembered that this was in fact, not her apartment, so it seemed unlikely that Serena had left.

She felt the bed dip and Serena’s soft accent was like music to her ears, “I’ve made coffee, I know you are awake, Em.”

Emily rolled over, holding the sheets up to cover her chest and glared at Serena.  “How did you know I was awake?”

“You were not snoring,” Serena’s laugh was like music to the red head’s ears.  The sandy blonde was wearing a pink low-cut silk robe that hugged her curvaceous form.  Emily felt her mouth go dry once more as her eyes slowly ran over Serena’s body.

“We had sex,” stated Emily.

“Yes.”

“We’ve never done that before.”

“No we have not,” Serena gave Emily a blinding smile.  “It is also a Monday, you are from the United Kingdom, and we both work at Runway, Em.  Is there anything else, darling that you feel you need to point out that we both know?”

Emily had felt a little light headed when Serena called her ‘darling,’ but she didn’t let that deter what she felt they needed to discuss.  She got to the point, “You’ve ruined our friendship!   We can’t go back to the way it was,” as she spoke her voice got louder.

Serena seemed unaffected.  “If you feel that way, then I suppose that is the way it is,” she gave the red head an enigmatic smile.

Emily pushed off the bed and stood up, not caring she was naked.  Now she was upset.  “How are we supposed to act at work?  Are we dating?  We don’t date, we’re just friends!” Emily was yelling at this point, her face almost matching her hair color.  She noticed some clothing set out for her at the end of the bed and immediately started to put them on.  She and Serena had often traded clothing as they were similar in size.

“We can be however you want us to be,” Serena said softly as she watched Emily dressing.  The louder and more flustered Emily acted, the calmer she became.   “I know what I want, but you need to decide what it is that you want, Em.”

Emily was done dressing, her face was still red.  She looked confused and on the verge of tears.  “I need some time.  I’m not sure how I feel about all of this.”  She gestured widely with her hands.  “I guess I’ll go home now.”

“Okay,” Serena said with a sad smile.  She sat watching Emily walk out the door.

After Emily closed the apartment door, she stood in place.  Eu te amo, echoed in her thoughts.  The searching look Serena gave her last night and many nights before.  Serena smiling.  Serena laughing.  Serena helping her while her leg was broken.  Serena bringing her soup when she was sick.  Serena being there when she got her promotion.  Serena naked.  She was in love with Serena.  She instantly turned and reentered Serena’s apartment.  The sandy blonde goddess was still seated at the end of the bed with a sad expression, she looked up incredulous.

“I thought about it.  Is it ok if I want you and that I want you to be with me?”  Emily asked, very tentative, still unsure about Serena’s affections, but sure of herself.  They had never beat around the bush in their friendship, and Emily was not going to start now.

“Oh yes.  Yes!” Serena, gigantic smile in place,  reached for Emily and pulled her back down on the bed and rolled over on top.  “Eu te amo.”

“I love you too,” Emily was smiling so hard her face hurt, then she looked thoughtful.  “Would you have really let me go?”

“No Em. I am never letting you go,” Serena then bent down and thoroughly kissed her.  They spent the rest of their day off  making love.

It was close to Christmas, they were still together, and Emily was a nervous wreck.  They were sitting in JFK waiting to board a plane to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.   They were going to spend Christmas with Serena’s large family.  Serena was holding her hand, as if she could read Emily’s mind, “Eu te amo.  Tudo ficará bem.”  All will be good.

Emily replied,  “Eu te amo também.”  I love you too.  She was slowly learning her girlfriend’s language, and had picked up all the swear words.

Serena was very excited that she would be introducing Emily to her family, especially her grandmother.  When she had been very little her grandmother had always told her, “Quando você encontra seu amor, nunca deixe-o ir embora.”  When you find your love, never let them go.  Her family knew Emily was a woman and just wanted Serena to be happy and loved.  The last time she had talked to her Nana, she had been reminded that civil unions were recognized in Rio Grande do Sul.  Serena had chuckled thinking about how flustered her girlfriend would get if she knew her family wanted them to get married.

Their flight was called, and together they stood, still holding hands.

The End
