I only have 27 fics up on Ao3, so this is going to be a bit of a look into the history of my writing (the last entry on this list is from July 2011!)
1. Danny was pretty used to being surprised by Stiles, so he’d gotten this policy of never assuming anything when he spoke to Stiles
2. Five years ago, getting ready to ship out to Afghanistan, John had never imagined he’d one day be working in a small independent tea room.
3. The clatter of the plate was jarringly loud in the otherwise silent lab.
4. "He’s doing a degree in medicine?" Leon asked as he stopped by a row of seats and sat down, sliding along to make room for Arthur.
5. “Shush!” Gwaine pressed fingers clumsily over Merlin’s mouth.
6. “Arthur, Merlin, come in.”
7. Stiles jolts awake to the sound of his window opening.
8. They’ve never spoken about it, this thing they do.
9. “Yeah?” Gwaine asks, voice hoarse.
10. Gwaine noticed the guy almost immediately
11. Elyan took a deep breath and knocked on the door to Gaius’ chambers.
12. It starts with a dream, as these things do.
13. Gwaine jumped as the door opened.
14. Morgana pulled herself out of bed, collecting her cigarettes and lighter on the way.
15. “Ugh!” Elena collapses onto her bed, shifting the mattress under Arthur.
16. “There are many names for what she does. She prefers ‘Dominatrix’.”
17. Just before dawn has always been Gwaine's favourite time of day.
18. “So, Merlin, how many knights have you had in your bed?”
19. Lestrade often found himself thinking of Mycroft.
20. The club was dark and and the music thrummed heavy and low in John’s veins, pulling him deeper into the crowd.
21. They meet like this:
Lestrade shot forward as soon as the door had been rammed open, knowing full well that their loud entrance had given the people inside plenty of warning to scarper.
(cheated on this one because I'm not sure what would count as a first line)
My first lines are fairly boring? I think I rely more on the first paragraph to pull people in (not saying it works, mind :P)
