Kenneth Williams used to be mocked for doing his "funny voices" in straight legit parts.

Martin Shaw deserves equal mockery for his use of the Arthur Mullard voice and the Cockney Gangstah one on George Gently. Which also seems to be set in "The Past" in pretty much the same way that Heartbeat is - a few early-sixties motors does not a valid ( Read more... )

that's what a PVR is for. Fiona/Kate slash is something I don't need to read, anyway. It goes on in my head ALL THE TIME. Often with Natasha Kaplinsky as the villainess who needs to be chastised. A lot.

Would work better with Anna Ford as the überdominatrix, methinks, but of course you can always substitute Celia Imrie (who came up in conversation along those lines while in Teh Pub yesterday IIRC).

Mmmm. Celia Imrie. Saw her in a theatre in London a few years ago (not on stage - sitting a couple of rows in front of us, in a shockingly bad jumper). Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
