I am learning lots of fun things! Different types of compound leaves...leaf venation...leaf shapes...leaf blade margins. And some other stuff, but I am definitely not done yet. Just to keep it fresh in my head...I will list some of these cool words. Compound leaves: can be pinnately, bipinnately, palmately, or ternately compound. Leaf venation: can either be palmate, pinnate, parallel, or dichotomous. Leaf shapes: ovate, elliptical, obtuse, lanceolate, linear, cordate, hastate, sagittate, orbicular, perfoliate, peltate. Leaf blade margins: entire, serrate, serrulate, double serrate, dentate, spinose-dentate, crenate, crenulate, undulate, broadly crenate, sinuate. Yay. Hopefully I didn't forget anything. Hmm, how about some vocabulary about stems: erect, prostrate, decumbent, caespitose, scandent, scapose. And some types of stem growths: rhizome, tuber, corm, bulb, stolon, thorn. Much words!
