HK and now back to the fold.

So everybody, everywhere
Don't be afraid, don't have no fear
I'm gonna tell the world, make you understand
As long as there'll be musicfandom, we'll be comin' back again

Shoot have I been neglectful of this side of the fandom or what? Fortunately dreamwidth works at work (for now!) even if lj doesn't, so I can post. And boy do I have something to post!

My sis, her friend and I went to HongKong last March for something really special. Like epic special - like I will never forget it for the rest of my life sort of special. I saw Hyde for reals and he is as beautiful as his pics, except he's real and Ken and - /squees.

Going to HK was definitely an adventure! Because of passport shenanigans, we had to get tickets for a flight to Clark instead of Naia Terminal 3, which meant we had a two hour trip before we checked in. We arrived three hours ahead of our check in time and chilled by the nearby Ministop, snacking on the stuff we brought in anticipation of the trip. Sadly the so-called Diosdado Macapagal International Airport is pretty sad compared to Terminal 3, according to my sister, and we had so many fees to pay before even getting through the departure lounge. :( Our flight was at 7:45pm, so we didn't really get to see anything on the way, though once we landed in HKIA I went into full tourist mode and took pictures of everything! My sister told me I was like Maya, so excited over just being in the airport, because HKIA is awesome I mean, we were on wifi almost immediately and the directions were easy to follow. We took the bus to Kowloon. I got to see the harbor with the lights and it was so pretty! Wish I brought my DSLR Mal but then that would have been another thing to worry about because it's so darn heavy 0_0;

We went down a couple of stops before our real stop in Nathan Road and had a bit of a mixup in getting to our hostel, then we went to the nearby McDo to have supper. They heard me wrong so we got something like McWings (?) instead of the burgers with onion rings. And then we went to sleep because we were off to HK Disneyland in the morning. :)

Oh dear HK Disneyland! I think I drained two pairs of batteries I was taking pictures of anything and everything. We tried most of the rides but my decided not to go to Space Mountain because um. Yeah. :)) I couldn't really see anything because I had to take off my glasses, but the funny thing there was there was a pair of businessmen who took the ride with us, and one of them was so disoriented after he tried to get off the wrong side of the track 0_0 We also managed to have pictures taken with different characters - we saw Belle first! - and got back to the main road for the parade. :) After we met Lea's friend Ming who took us around Mongkok including Sino Center - sis bought a magazine with Matsujun in the cover while Lea bought Hyde's biography - a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant where the servers didn't speak English but they had this awesome oyster omelette, and this famous dessert place where we had to fall in line to get in. I had this sweet bean and walnut soup while the rest had shaved ice. Then we went back to the hostel because it was already 11 pm and there were barely any shops open.

Our last day in KH started really cold, so my sis and Lea decided to not leave because they were feeling under the weather and they had to coordinate with our friend Jenny who was coming with for the concert. I was going to buy wigs down at Mongkok so I took the MTR alone and proceeded to get lost when I took the wrong exit down to Portland. Fortunately after twenty or so minutes of wandering around with pancake balls and bottled water I recognized the street I was in as the one we passed by the night before, and went to Soy St. And proceeded to get lost and confused because the person who told me about the wig shop didn't tell me it was a stall, rather than an actual shop. :( Dropped by Sino Center when it opened to buy Do As Infinity and a couple more secondhand cds, then finally the stall was up and I got a blonde wig I was asked to buy, as well as the long black one I needed for a cosplay. Once done I had some spicy tofu and then we were off to try to find Jenny, who it turned out her parents were giving a hard time to let her go to the concert she's paid for months in advance 0_0 Lea and I went ahead while my sis waited for her in East TTS station, and we wandered around Asia World Expo after she got her tour goods. It was surprising how many friends we saw there but I guess it was because it was the closest L'arc tour stop to my country. And then we were in the concert.

I'm a fan of L'arc but I haven't been keeping track of their albums for a while but gosh, hearing them live is amazing and I will abuse the word amazing for a while because it's my first band concert - and the energy was definitely different from that time we watched Rain in an open area. Hyde's voice is always good but gosh, hearing it live sent shivers down my spine, and then they each had a talking section - well except Yuki xDDDD but he had an amazing drum solo that went FOREVER - and the bananas Tetsu threw into the crowd, and Ken's ANGRY. BIIIIIIIIRD joke, and the fact they were apparently in the Night market on the other end of Nathan road the night before and just. FEELS. ALL THE FEELS. When they started playing Forbidden Lover it was done, tears were being shed for reals. ;w; It was a mix of the old singles and the new ones, and by the time the concert ended I couldn't believe time went by so quickly! Spent the rest of the night at HKIA where we napped while waiting for our early morning flight. Going down at Clark's airport was really a letdown after the awesome but /shrugs.

I've been really busy for the past couple of months, but I'll be spacing my catch up posts because GREAT WALLS OF TEXT. This entry was originally posted at http://blue-cage.dreamwidth.org/102201.html.
