Ok folks, I'm getting desperate.
I have a band. It's called "The Kingfish". We primarily play covers, but have started to earnestly write some originals, and we've already got an album's worth started. We seem to be pointed toward an acoustic-meets-hardcore blues kind of sound. We've been playing together for two years now, we have gigs lined up, and we are starting to get a decent buck from the places we play. One small problem.
WE DO NOT HAVE A BASS PLAYER.
Now, it's not that we've never had a bass player. Far from it. Shades of Spinal Tap's drummer, we've gone through 9 (count 'em, 9) bass players. Some have been guitarists that just played bass to be in the band, others played with us once, for fun, and decided not to join. We had a great one for the past 6 months, but he's become too busy, and can no longer make the drive (from Fond Du Lac to Chicago) to play.
Look. I'm going to be totally frank with you. And don't call me Shirley. My band needs a bass player. A permanent bass player. That's the missing link. We've been holding back for lack of a bass player. We could be playing much larger venues, bringing in decent money. We are waiting to be a full band before we launch the website that we already own. This is a perfect opportunity for the right bass player. It's a pret-a-porter band. The only thing missing from the Kingfish...is you. Although, then it would be spelled "Kingfuish", and that may be odd.
In any event, if anyone knows anyone who knows a bass player in the tri-state area around Chicago that would like to talk about playing bass in a band, I would be forever indebtted to you. You want to come see the band for free, with drinks on the house? Done. You want a free Kingfish T-Shirt? Done. You want me to write a song with some secret message in it that only we two know about? Done. Done. DONE.
Please forward this to anyone you know that might be in any way interested. Have them contact me, and we can talk details.
Most graciously,
Thank you.
