Look,
photos! That's the pre-movie slash crew! ;D
As a friend of mine greeted me this evening: "Happy Thanks Indians"
Had dinner at
marag's with her and her family (husband, daughter, parents, and in-laws), and some friends, including
heatherly, who I met for the first time IRL. (Hopefully, we'll have a chance to get together again while I'm here in Maryland.) Much great vegetarian food (plus turkey and gravy for the meat eaters). I made a vegetarian version of my grandma's (mom's mom's) stuffed cabbage, or my interpretation of the recipe as told to me by my mom - because I never knew that grandma. The dish came out fabulous. I was dubious about the sauce, which was basically white wine vinegar and (vegan, in this case) ginger snaps melted in water. I kid you not. (I also used some honey, but I could have done without it because there was enough sweetness from the snaps.) It looked weird as I was mixing it up, but it was delicious when mingled with the cabbage stuffing of vegan "meatless meatballs" in spaghetti sauce.
