It's a gift to come down where you want to be...

Well, look here. I am laying on our couch. I should be writing a speech. But, alas, I am not.

Sometimes I forget it feels good to sit down and write about nothing. Or something. Or just about where you are in your life. I like doing that. It's very... how did Bethany put it? Oh, "therapeutic". I can see that. Then again, if I write too much, I feel that it becomes a boasting contest with all the entries. I try to stay away from that, by updating every eleven months. Eh, who cares. As of now, I am living in good old Savannah, Georgia. I have a nice apartment out on Whitemarsh Island, with two of the craziest roommates. Kate from Baltimore. Colin from Rhode Island (Warren to be exact). "Beautiful people" as I like to call them.

A lot has happened since I moved down here at the beginning of August. Kate and I decorated the apartment rather well before Colin made his journey here. We finally purchased a couch... about two days ago. So now, the apartment seems complete. It feels like home here. With a quarky little family. Trying to go to bed at night is sometimes a hassle because we all are so wired from the day that we all three crash on Kate's bed and just talk. Which is a great thing. I ask them both for advice all the time. And usually, they have really good insights on things.

I worked at Gottlieb's Restaurant & Dessert Bar. They are great people there. I was the "Dessert Cart" guy. Which meant I trucked around the cart full of cakes and pies to people who wanted dessert. You want to know about the Canasta Cake? Well, it's two layers of devil's food cake topped with a chocolate icing with french butter cream dollops. The 14K Carrot Cake? Huh, you get the idea. It was good. But I started getting some freelance work, so I decided to leave there for now.

I had the pleasure of working with a great organization "Spirit of America" (http://www.spiritamerica.com/). I was lucky enough to be hired to re-do their website and create a logo for their organization. I am getting more offers through them, and I plan on updating my website soon, too. So, that's cool, right? On the other hand, for some freaky reason, I get offered jobs as a bartender at the club. Or, to dance on a box. Neither of which, I plan on doing anytime soon. Then again, if our damn gas bill is $100 for no reason again, I might just do it! (Not really). Some advertising agency wanted me to model for one of their clients, too. I was all for it until I found out the client: Chatham Area Transit. Needless to say, I didn't want my ugly mug plastered on the side of a bus here.

Social life? Going good. I've met so many interesting people here. So many friends from last year, too. Kate and Colin provide hours of free entertainment. Going to the bars and clubs with them is quite a funny experience. Something strange or weird always happens. But I guess that is okay. I got (have, put on, acquired?) braces. So, my smile is getting fixed. Sadly, I am excited for that. But oh well. My love life? Let's not get into that. I've had seen better times with it. But, hey, I'll be okay. No hard feelings or animosity.

School is great. The reason I am here. Drawing for Designers is a difficult class. But, I will be glad to say i will be proficient in the Swiss School Art of Bauhaus Drawing. Also, I am learning more about graphic design programs in my Art Application class. My speech class is fun... goodness knows I like getting up in front of people and talking.

So, yeah, I'll try and be therapeutic more often. Colin is right, we're all becoming weekend whores. We live for it. Oh well.

Oh, and Colin, I'm winning the bet. And Kate? I'm winning the bet, too.

Goodnight kids.
