- happy birthday, daddy! i wonder what we would be doing today if my dad was still alive... i wonder if we'd be celebrating. you know, i can't remember ever celebrating his birthday. it was always my birthday or my sister's birthday.... i wonder what i would have gotten him for a present. o_____O maybe a book. i got the love of reading from him. (that's why my aunt liked him so much that she introduced him to my mom, lol) :D
is it funny that my mom, my sister, and i call each other and greet each other happy birthday today? XD my dad would have been 58... that's kinda hard to believe. o_____O; in my mind, my dad is forever stuck in his early 40s...
- today is also the feast of the lady of mt. carmel (which, i think, is why my grandma named my dad carmelo - only the nurse messed it up and wrote carmelino on the birth certificate.)
- today... i walked down fifth avenue, just so i could go up to the 73rd floor observation deck in the columbia tower. it definitely was pretty cool. smith tower looked so tiny from up there... as did the space needle. XD; the elevators were fast enough to not even let me get any sense of claustrophobia (it also helps that there were never any more than 3 other people in the elevator with me). the view was entirely through the lightly tinted windows of the floor... going through about a half circle around the building. i could see the islands from far off! it was nice. i wouldn't compare the experience to the smith tower deck too much, since you were actually stepping out the building there and HAD a 360 view, which was awesome, although i was pretty scared that i might drop my camera. it makes me wonder if i should go back when it's heavily raining just to look at the city... but why the hell would i want to walk 15 minutes through heavy rain? XD [
pictures (you would need to friend me if you haven't yet)]
- i need to upload a rough inventory of my manga soon... there are some series i need to complete but i can't ever remember exactly which volume/s i'm missing. XD;;
