He'd tried sticking around the bar but after too long of that without really even sleeping, Dick got tired of it. Apparently your skills don't -always- stay with you, and the lack of superhero activity for the past however knows long makes a stakeout type situation harder. He'd like to believe there's nothing he should be staking out over, but...

Roy's cleaning his house and singing REO Speedwagon songs very loudly while Lian sings Britney Spears in her bedroom.

Dick has to grin slightly at that. It's really not a sight someone can pass by and -not- grin at, even if it's not very uncommon. "Battle of the bands in here, huh?" He asks, approaching Roy.

Roy grins. "Dick! Well, it was, but I can ignore it now THAT DICK'S HERE TO DISTRACT ME!"

Lian just giggles and continues bouncing on her bed.

Dick snickers just a little. "Why so quick to quit? Was she winning?"

"She always does. Besides..." Roy hugs him. "You've been absent."

Dick hugs him back. "Yeah..." he says quietly. "Sorry about that."

Roy rolls his eyes. Ugh. Always Bat issues. "Spill."

Dick laughs at that, in the 'I'm not really laughing at all' kind of way. He doesn't even bother to step around issues with Roy anymore, which really, says a lot. "Death seems to have become a very relative thing."

Roy blinks and groans. "Who showed up now?"

Dick shakes his head. "Not just there. In Gotham, too." He sighs and closes his eyes for a moment, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Ja- Jason."

"Dude. Jason?" Roy...wonders why they aren't happy...because...Jason... Well, all Roy remembers is a cute kid.

"Yeah." Dick wishes it were so simple that he could just be happy about it. He -is-, but it's tempered by sadness, guilt, and disagreement... it's not -fair-. "Which means we essentially abandoned him for years without even knowing it."

[not_speedy]

"But he died. So...he came back?"

Roy rubs his temples then tries again.

"Okay. So...you abandoned him but you found him. So...what's the problem. Take him home, have Bruce...oh...shit..."

He sighs. "Poor Jason."

Dick grits his teeth. "Exactly." He has no clue how that meeting went, but he has a strong feeling that it didn't go well. Even if Jason wasn't Red Hood, it probably wouldn't have... because... it's Bruce.

"So...where is he then?"

Roy thinks about Steph and damn...it seems wrong that Jason isn't going to be...well...someone they can just talk with.

Dead or alive. He's just a kid. Not that...he really wants the guy around Lian if he's all psycho but...Jason's Bruce's kid. Bruce should be...rejoicing.

"Gotham. You know those... the news? About that new player? Red Hood. That's... him."

It's hard to think about him as just a kid, not with everything he's doing. Maybe he hasn't had a chance to be a kid since his... death. That just makes DIck sadder.
