I've not posted about Matt and Heather's wedding yet! How crap am I? (don't all shout out at once).
Matt and Heather's wedding was fantastic. It was in Christchurch Priory
http://people.bath.ac.uk/lismd/dorset/churches/christchurch.html which is a really beautiful building in a scenic town. After the ceremony if abosolutely POURED down, really bucketed. The photos outdoors by the prioy were a wash out and all the guests ran to the bandstand by the river to get under cover. The poor bride got drenched and had a downed rat look going on - in fact we all did. She and Matt were the only ones to be driven to the waterside, but no one thought to put an umbrella in the car :-S so my brave and handsome man ran out to meet them and carried an umbrella over Heather.
Two ferries took us to Hengistbury Head where the Black House
http://www.theblackhouse.co.uk/ had been rented for the reception. Champagne on the ferries and the Red Arrows
http://www.raf.mod.uk/reds/ did a fly over (very well arranged...). As we crossed the water the sun came our, and it was beaufiful sunshine by the time we made it to the other side - we all dried out quickly as there is always quite a breeze there! Pimms on arrival (two boys did a very good job of keeping everyone's glasses topped up all night) and a sea food buffet. It was a really impressive spread, but I'm a strict veggie!
Lots of sun, sea, sand, funny speeches and dodgy dancing. BBQ dinner (veggie burgers :D) and finally time to go by 11. Unfortunately the last ferry was taking everyone back to Christchurch side of the water, where as David and I needed to get home to the opposite (Hengistbury head) side, so we had a long walk home in the pitch black. I was in heels, so I walked most of the way bare foot - it only took about an hour and 1/2! Feet were a little sore the next day....
So overall a big thumbs up, it was nice to be somewhere where I could drink and relax, it was such a laid back party. Conrgatulatons to M&H - photos will have to wait till I have downloaded them from Matt's Facebook.
